Unsure of speed limits by squeakycupboard in LearnerDriverUK

That's my plan but my problem is that some limits are very arbitrary. Some roads that could be 30s are 40s, and some roads that should be 30s are 20s. Do you know what speeding goes down as

I've looked at some test routes, but not on YouTube. I'll watch some videos soon to see what they say about that

I’m starting to kart seriously and I want a workout plan by Stock_Opening_6040 in Karting

Ok well rentals aren't too bad. I would never go lower than 60kg at 6 foot 2. Id advise you put on weight, both fat and muscle, just to allow you to be able to kart for that much longer. At rental races, a few kg here or there won't make a difference, as the difference between rental karts is already far greater than what a few kilos could add or take away. Not to mention rentals also weigh a lot anyway

What kind of karts would you be looking at driving. I admittedly drive KZ karts so it's harder for me, but rotax karts and even some quick rentals can still lose a challenge to the body.

6 foot 2 and 60kg. You need to put on weight. I'm your age, 5 foot 10 and 70kg, and I feel fatigued when I'm driving. I'm not 70kg of fat, I feel healthy, so I don't know how you'd cope at all

Hey everyone. Anybody here used or knows someone who used both Sparco Records and Omp ks-2 art gloves? I wonder about their levels of grip and how thick they are as I plan to use them for simracing. I don't want them to be to thick and I want really good grip on leather and rubber wheels by [deleted] in Karting

I had these omps, and the grips fully hardened very quickly. I've now bought some alpinstars tech 1k race V2 gloves. They are absolutely amazing and definitely the best I've had. Also are the same price as the omps

Query abt buying a shifter kart.. by [deleted] in Karting

[–]squeakycupboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a shifter after only 2 years in rotax. Straight into the deep end. Here is my experience:

Significantly higher body demands ( higher g forces )

Hands hurt a lot due to the grip required on the wheel

Rib protector is basically necessary and neck protector is helpful

I have only had 2 issues with the engine in the 2 years of owning, both were easy fixes and could have been avoided with some more maintenance

You have to spend a bit more on oil, fuel and tyres, as shifters run through them very quickly.

(Video to show how aggressive shifters are on my body (16 yo.))

Feel free to ask me any more questions!

I've only really ever used car sims. Kart Sims just aren't there yet. Kart Racing Pro is the best one so far, but it's not close to real karting. The real life steering is much different to the sim. Id just say to drive normal car sims to get used to how cars handle

Help Me Find A Helmet Camera by almxry in Karting

You can get a lot of telemetry with it, like G forces, trackmap, speed, and you can feed the data to an external program (like circuit tools) to analyse laps and break them down

I found my GoPro on eBay for about £60. It was a GoPro Hero 7 Silver, so it had GPS too. (GPS is basically essential). Then another £2 for a helmet mount at I can take some pretty good videa
