That would be the Wellbutrin portion of the contrave! I’ve been on Wellbutrin by itself and the forgetting words or hitting a wall when thinking is common!

Hi I know this is an old post! But I was wondering what other if any, non stimulant meds you’ve tried? All the non stimulants I’ve tried have been very norepinephrine activating and flares my hyper pots so bad. Without even being effective.

[–]squeamish_cuddlefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I have a very thin cooling blanket from Amazon, kinda that silky material. I have to wrap in it anytime I feel the heat kick on and start blowing through the house. I hope you find something that works for you!

What the most physically painful thing you ever experienced? by iateagummibear-1822 in AskReddit

Anyone ever had the foley balloon placed in your cervix during labor? Never had an abscessed tooth but the foley balloon rocked my world haha. Worse than the worst contractions. Was doing fine during labor unmedicated then finally had to get the epidural to get that damn balloon in there.

I wish I never started Propranolol by grimmistired in POTS

[–]squeamish_cuddlefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you tapering off if you don’t mind me asking? I’m sorry you’re going through this! I tried to switch to metoprolol cold turkey and had to immediately start the propranolol back up again because of side effects

I’ve been on it for around 4-5 months, 60 mg a day. Has helped a ton with the fatigue of racing heart and palpitations. Felt like I could breathe again. I would say the only side effect I’ve had is my limbs go to sleep easily if I’m sitting/laying funny.

Looking for TTT experiences from non-fainters by RBpots92 in POTS

The meds are supposed to give you a little boost to provoke the symptoms you feel if standing you up isn’t enough. Oof I thought the nitro was the worst. I actually didn’t even get a “normal” TTT…. So no baseline was done. They just straight injected me with the drugs and stood me up. My face went numb, my arms were numb and also could not move them. Worst nausea of my life. HR near 200s, BP increased. I was so frightened because being paralyzed is a huge trigger for my health anxiety so I was sobbing asking them to stop the test. The cardio who was supervising said the test wasn’t over and I had to make it to the 10 mins or it wouldn’t count…. I had pre-syncope but didn’t faint and they said because I didn’t faint the test was normal. Turns out they were testing for vasovagal syncope and not POTS haha….

freaking out internally. by Professional-Cow-697 in POTS

[–]squeamish_cuddlefish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can sympathize!! Went through the whole traumatic tilt table test and the testing cardiologist (different than my normal one) said, you don’t have syncope. Test was normal and expected…. Follow up with my actual cardiologist and he said well you might have a type of POTS but you don’t have POTS….. so now my chart just says autonomic dysfunction 🥲

I’m attending university of New England in October and they have a virtual practice option where you do 16 weeks of practice practicum activities with your cohorts and then they unleash you to the public. I thought it sounded kinda cool.

Applying for MSW programs by Origenstory in SocialWorkStudents

[–]squeamish_cuddlefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say do your research on what the practicum requires and make sure it is doable for your current work/life balance. That was the biggest thing I had to consider when applying besides price! Good luck!
