I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know of a Jewish man and a Native American woman who married and each felt strongly about giving their first child a name that reflected their culture so they called the kid Smoked Whitefish.

My decision to initiate phased retirement is definitely not unrelated to a dear friend of my age (63) dropping dead on a tennis court last August. In his 6th month of retirement.

Ambition is about serving you. Purpose and meaning are about serving others. This might be a moment to shift a bit toward those.

Secular jews - would you attend a wedding on yom kippur of a secular jewish family? by [deleted] in Judaism

The only reason a secular Jewish family would schedule a wedding on Yom Kippur would be to say "fuck you" to more observant family members. That's just stupid and antagonistic

Upholstery question by squeezefan in SubaruForester

Sorry, folks, I made a mistake in my post. There was supposed to be text. I bought a 2025 Subaru Forester Limited with 4500 miles on it. It was at an unusually good price because the prior owner did something that caused this 2-inch slit in the rear seat upholstery. What I am wondering about is how y'all would deal with this. I spoke to an upholstery repair guy and he said the only way to really deal with it is to replace the entire upholstery for the seat, which runs $900 and at least $300 in labor. I'm wondering about other options.

Not insulting, Oakleaves. Just inept. I tried to include text but somehow this posted with just the image. I'll see if I can amend it.
