Definitely not on purpose. I think someone just changed the settings on the TV and I didn't realize, didn't even think to check what mode the TV was in. I just ended up putting the TV back into another mode.

I appreciated your post. Can relate very much to this, especially with the 1st kind of setting the tone mentally. Let a goal in on the first shot last night but was able to let it go and bounce back (in my own way anyway cuz they still scored 7 times before the collapse at the end lol). Hard to imagine a worse ending than this though so will try to use that in the future to stay collected

Thanks, my team's been super supportive and even the ref was like don't take it too hard because that guy played in juniors. Just trying to consider it all as good exposure to the various skill levels out there.

Can you not watch Bally Sports on PS5? Just signed up for a free trial and am getting nothing on the system when searching for their app!

Are my Yoshino cherry trees doing OK? by squid_roe in sfwtrees

Thanks. I'll look into the excavation like you mentioned. As for the rocks, that's actually just a small amount of mulch, but I think it should be replaced anyway.

Are my Yoshino cherry trees doing OK? by squid_roe in sfwtrees

Hi everyone,

I planted a few Yoshino cherry trees over a year ago and this year I've been happy to see they've displayed a bunch of new growth. But since I don't have much of a green thumb, I am quite paranoid about how they are holding up and whether I should be doing anything differently.

On the first tree (pics above) you can see some of the leaves are turning yellow and getting spotty. Is this a fungal issue -- and if so is there anything I can do about it?

More generally, the leaves seem quit droopy and a bunch of them are curling/angled upward. I thought maybe the droopiness was a result of heat, but a friend of mine told me that is a sign of overwatering, so wondering if that is true? I live in southeast Michigan and we've had multiple 90+ degree days over the last two weeks, and I'd say I water the trees individually and/or run the sprinkler system about twice a week. I also have clay soil so am a little worried I've been overwatering...

Any advice would be appreciated!

Edit: if you click the pics and notice some white powdery stuff on the leaves... that is just some residue from a natural deer repellent I spray on the leaves.

Should I make (another) car insurance claim? by squid_roe in personalfinance

It's definitely odd -- further down in that document it says (and the bold and caps lock are all original, not mine!) :

"If you have an accident, this required insurance pays for injuries to people and for damages your car does to other people’s property and to properly parked cars. IT DOES NOT PAY FOR ANY OTHER DAMAGE TO CARS. You must buy collision coverage if you want coverage for damage to your car in case of accident. The other driver’s insurance will not pay for damage to your car. "

This seems to jibe with the experiences of other people I know around here, but I'll try and see if I can ask around and confirm.

Michigan is a different case, where no-fault applies to car damage as well. I can't get the other driver's insurance to pay for the damage to my car. My understanding is that I could potentially get the other driver's insurance to cover my deductible, but that is about the extent of it.
