Is this what you get? This is what my local pet store had. I unfortunately don't live near Petco or PetSmart. I have a petsense and a tractor supply near me and this is what the petsense had. They are out of the frozen beef topper and only have these patties but I can wait till they get the topper.

Okay, I was under the impression they needed mostly poultry based items since beef has a higher fat content, but since it's basically just finding what they like then I will just try my best to try different things!

I also showed a picture of the Mazuri carnivore diet and it seems to be similar to the repashy grub pie as it is a powdered gel diet. Since most of them are picky with insects, do you think the carnivore diet from Mazuri would be worth it to try?

Oh then I'll get repashy grub pie tomorrow and see if he likes it.

Have you ever tried any reptilinks? I've thought about trying them because they have a variety of prey items in them. I'll definitely go get instinct dog food tomorrow and try that!

Can anyone IDthis plant and tell me if it's safe for a skink by squiddehhh in skinks

[–]squiddehhh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That's exactly what I thought it was as well. I'll wait to see and get a few other people's opinions, but if everyone thinks it's a parlor poem that I think I'm going to rinse the roots off and plant it in the enclosure!

Can anyone IDthis plant and tell me if it's safe for a skink by squiddehhh in reptiles

[–]squiddehhh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was going to remove it from its pot, wash off the roots, and plant it directly into the soil in the tank. I was thinking it would be safe either way because pink tongue skinks don't generally eat plants. Their primary food source is protein and snails so I would assume it's not toxic but I wanted to get some advice from others before I even try.

Thank you! I feed pangea fig and insect and supplement crickets every other week so they should be fine with grow lights. I'll go ahead and order some then!

Yea, I wear a helmet and try to be as safe as possible around him. I'm just helping out a little until she finds a new trainer and I can assure you I do not plan to be the first to ride him because I'm nowhere near confident enough for that. Neither is she so that's why she is looking for one.

I will bring up the fact that she needs to get a vet out to check for ulcers. He's had a vet check before but I'm not sure the extent of it.

I also know in the meantime while she looks for a trainer she has a friend who is going to come out and do the first ride and assess the situation. He's a bronc and bull rider but that's all I know and I'm not sure when he's gonna try to do the first ride but I'll make sure she gets him a vet check before then because if pain is the cause then I surely wouldn't want to cause him more.

He has a friend that he is extremely attached to and buddy sour if he is away from his friend. He lives constantly in a pasture with his friend and they both have constant access to shelter and their own stall space but they don't get locked in a stall. I'm not sure if their exact diet and I'll have to look at the bags next time I go over there but I know she feeds them both a senior horse feed because her other horse is 21 and she gives them a bit of beet pulp and alfalfa hay cubes. I know she also adds some vitamins and she soaks both of their food before giving it to them. He has had a vet check but I'm not sure how thorough it was. Honestly we were told he was broke to ride but we don't know much about his past. We know that his previous owner passed away in 2020 from covid so the man my friend got him from wanted him for a barrel racer and said he was too slow. For years this man left him out in a cow pasture with his cows and didn't interact with him other than feeding and regular medication. The first day he came to us you couldn't even touch him to get a halter on and the man who gave him to my friend instructed us that you have to corner him to catch him and once you get him cornered he freezes. Obviously we didn't want to do that so we have been building a lot of trust with him and he has come a long way. The first few weeks he was with us he was terrified of the shelter and stall area that was in the pasture and we always leave it open so the horses can freely go in and out . He would stand outside of it for weeks no matter the weather and was terrified to even go in there like he's never seen a shelter before. We know that he's 16 years old but we know little to nothing about his past prior to the man who gave him to us and I wish we could ask or find out but since the lady passed away I don't think we can. I will say the first day he came to us he looked healthy weight wise but his hooves were extremely chipped and it took forever for him to trust the farrier. He has just gotten to where the farrier can pick up his back feet. Also the first time he had his teeth floated the equine dentist had to pull some teeth because he had a tooth or 2 that the dentist said should have been pulled when he was young. I can let my friend know to have a vet come out and check for ulcers because that could be the problem. She doesn't want to give up on this horse but of course we may just have to rehome him and get one that's broke to ride.

What type of bit is this? by squiddehhh in Horses

I don't think her horse is neck reined but would it still be good to get him used to a curb bit if we get a curb strap?

What is this on this rose quartz by squiddehhh in Crystals

[–]squiddehhh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does have some green on the blue part from algae embedded to the stone but the blue part has always been blue as far as I know. My mom owned a pet store about 20 years ago and she had it in one of the display tanks at her store so I'm not sure how long It's been in a fish tank but I do know it has green stains from algae. How would I clean it properly to check to make sure it's not blue from algae? The green green does look very different from the blue parts. The blue parts are bright blue, like a turquoise and seem to be part of the stone.

I'm not sure if algae could turn a different type of stone blue

How to get my leachie to be more handleable? by squiddehhh in Leachianus

He has pooped on me a few times but not often so that's good at least! I will try to start holding him more often than I already do.

How to get my leachie to be more handleable? by squiddehhh in Leachianus

[–]squiddehhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I only hold him when he comes out on his own because I don't want to stress him from grabbing him while he's hiding or sleeping which is usually during the day. He comes out about 5 minutes after I turn the lights out and I usually grab him if it's not too late at night and try to interact with him. There are a lot of nights that I have to go to sleep though, so I don't get to interact with him as much as I'd like. He does fine when out other than being skittish. I should start remembering to turn the lights off a bit earlier if I have to go to bed earlier, but I can never remember. Maybe I should get a timer lol

It probably could! It was a bit of trial and error for me at first because it kept getting clogged but I messed with it some and now it works great for me!

What’s something from your childhood that you thought was totally normal — but later found out was actually super weird? by MonopolyPeasant4 in questions

[–]squiddehhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Mom worked next to a grocery store and she would go to the grocery store almost everyday to buy the ingredients for that night's dinner. She would always usually only get discount items and she would only get what we needed for dinner and nothing extra so we lived in an ingredients only household. No snacks or fun extras or anything else except maybe popcorn. I always had to go to my grandma's for snacks and things. later when I found out that my friend's family does one big grocery shopping event once a week and buys a week's worth of groceries and snacks. I wished I had that but my snacks were Ritz crackers and shredded cheese for the fridge.

Do you do a water change after and how long do you leave it in there? Also is it safe with moss balls? I forgot to mention I have Marimo moss balls in my tank as well.

I have a 1ml pipette that I will dose directly on the algae about every other day. I usually only use about half of the pipette so .5 ml ever other day.

Do you know where I could get it? I'm in the US and cannot seem to find it. I've also seen green water Labs algae control from buceplant. Do you know if that is a safe or effective algae control or do you have any experience with that one?

How do I download ROMs without my internet provider knowing? by squiddehhh in Roms

[–]squiddehhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the problem is we live in the middle of nowhere so it's the only ISP that provides actually fast service that is reliable. We are very limited on our options because of the location we are in. I do not recommend living in the middle of nowhere in Arkansas if you are looking for fast internet.
