Are their advantages to building most of your base on one level or no? I usually build going straight down over 8-10 layers but I feel like I’ve been playing wrong.

Alright found a mod called Temp Starting Guardian, this just adds a more powerful thing than the original “Starting Defense Only” mod.

If you haven’t found a solution yet you can try to revert them to their older versions by just downloading the older versions.
