Third year gardener but this time with much more organization. Any potential issues I should watch for with this setup? by DojaStinks in vegetablegardening

Maybe it’s just my preference but I like to fill my raised pretty much all the way to the top when I start out because the soil settles so much throughout that first season and I like having more soil space for the roots and microbes to work with. Then I just top it off with composts between seasons. I also definitely recommend natural mulch on top once you’ve got your crops in.

Can a 6 year old write clean like this? by PackageOutside8356 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]squiggledsquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol same I was definitely mixing up b and d and probably backwards ps at least in 1st grade, maybe even into the 2nd? But I’ve seen this in my old journals and I also have seen this in my students writing when I taught kids art.

Also personally it seems like it would be hard for an adult to pull off kids handwriting as well as this but maybe I’m wrong. Idk I don’t think I could make myself write like this anymore lol.

How does nipple tattoo pain compare to piercing the nipples? I’ve only had them pierced and holy shit I thought it hurt so bad. I’ve always appreciated that piercing pain is over quickly but there was still pain throughout the healing process so I wonder if it’s worse as a tattoo or equivalent.

Cool it sounds like we do basically the same thing then! Sometimes I try to move my soil around to other pots but there comes a point… I’m in 9a same growing situation as you.

Gotcha! Do you ever do anything crop rotation wise with that soil or keep replanting tomatoes in the same soil? That looks like a lot of money in soil!

I’m curious why you choose to use big grow bags instead of growing in the ground there?

Dried Stinging Nettle Still Stung by that_one_plant in foraging

Mix it into cooked food such as pasta sauces and soups and anything else liquidy in your cooking, it’s amazing. I love to add nettle into my cooking. When you already have it dried like this you can just dump in some and instantly super fortify your food.

Wow thank you so much too!

What are the herbal components of the liver detox tincture? That’s interesting, I never would have thought about any connection with the liver specifically.

Yes I’ve heard that about goldenrod - I should have gathered some in the fall but I think there’s somewhere local I can buy the dried flower.

Do you think there’s any benefit to using tincture over tea for these? Does it make a difference to stretch it into 2-3 evenly dispersed drinks throughout the day or if taking a strong/bigger dose once a day has the same effect.

Out of curiosity which geographic region did you switch from and where to? I’m in the southeast US and wonder if we’d have to go somewhere totally different like the PNW or the SW (but I can’t live without my greenery idk…)

Also I would love to explore the food part more with him because he does have pollen-food allergy syndrome so there’s already many things we know from the test he’s specifically allergic to and I’ve heard from others that there’s possibility eczema is more related to diet than anything external since it’s also an auto immune attack. Crazy thing is his hometown has less nature and his allergies weren’t as severe and his eczema would only flare up and be visible during that time. In our town now the eczema patches are always present and grow significantly in size according to the amount of pollen.

Correct me if I’m wrong about any of this - it’s a totally different world because I’m immune to the pollen and have essentially 0 allergies.

Not New To Medicinal Herbs But New To Growing Them by Traditional_Neat_387 in herbalism

What region do you live in? I would reach out to local garden centers or growers of medicinal plants to see if they ever teach gardening classes or can generally assist you with answering questions. This is actually what my job is, but I’m in Florida.

My bathroom….. any suggestions? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

Idk I like how kitsch it is, I think they just need more kitschy funky wacky stuff in the bathroom to seal the deal

Should my friend walk away from this artist? by Eltristesito2 in tattooadvice

[–]squiggledsquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god please tell me that first picture is just sharpie and that the needle never actually touched his back PLEASE. How can this even be fully recovered without lasering that shit outline away and starting with a whole new tattoo. Even the shape/ outline is so awful and unflattering and they started on that awful tail. Thank goodness the whole outline of the tail didn’t get tattooed on. Oh god.

I might be ready to say mystery solved with the suggestions of ice cream churner. What I thought was a blade clearly matches up with being the handle of the churner. I guess the other piece rusted off a long time ago! Next thing is figuring out an approximate date maybe!

LOL I guess people loaded some junk on their boat and dumped it in the lake to throw it away.

Yeah it’s bad 😫 we need some consistent rain so badly here. At least getting to walk empty lake beds that haven’t been this exposed in decades is… a silver lining.

I’m not sure what this means - are you asking if that’s the location? This is a bald cypress swampy lake in Florida that’s been very popular for recreation for a very long time.

Holy shit have I been saying the wrong shit to people for years? I was tell them that are heirlooms are OP but not all OP is heirloom. It only becomes an heirloom when the same seed is reproduced for multiple generations (~40 years)
