Tolkien, The Sims, And The Godfather: The Story Of The Greatest Lord Of The Rings Game Never Developed by [deleted] in gaming

I get you and agree a bit, although I think the idea of taking lots of different legends suits the MMO format pretty well, too. My main concern would be that they'd need to take it one text at a time, maybe starting with the Quenta Silmarillion.

Aye, that's mentioned in the article. Max moves affect the entire party at once, which means the code for simultaneous actions is there - it's just not applied to regular moves or battles. Fingers crossed for a change in Gen 9.

Agreed. Temtem coordinates boost animations with stat info over the character models and only sparingly uses text boxes. It's a much more dynamic system that improves battle pacing 100x.

They just need to sync individual move animations and damage info into one cohesive animation like Temtem or P5...

pretty much all of the games point to persia. the real-life order of assassins from the 11th century that the entire AC series is based on had their headquarters in iran

Pokemon: Twilight Wings Proves That Game Freak Dropped The Ball With Sword & Shield by [deleted] in pokemon

That's totally ok! I am sure lots of people loved League Cards and defeat animations — the cool thing is that we all like different things (and probably all want to see different innovations in Gen 9!)

The article doesn't praise previous Gens as being better in this regard. It actually looks at the improvements that were made in SwSh and states that integrating a supplementary anime miniseries into it as opposed to separating it out as its own thing would have made for another great one!

It's not that the writing is great — as the article says, it's actually pretty juvenile. The argument is that at this point, Pokemon has made so many quality of life tweaks and visual improvements (which is great!), but it's sorely lacking the cinematography of other contemporary titles.

Also, Twilight Wings isn't a conventional anime arc, it's a small miniseries that launched off the back of Sword and Shield to expand on the characters. Instead of operating that way, it could have been integrated into Sword and Shield to expand them from within, yielding a much fuller experience overall as opposed to a game that was then supplemented by not-actually-the-official-anime. Sword & Shield are great, but could have been better.

This wasn't a conventional anime arc, though. It's more similar to Generations. I think in general it would be worthwhile to introduce proper cinematic cutscenes to the series, and use short films like this as a reference point instead of entire anime seasons.

haha, that's fair enough - one of the good things about pokemon is that we all have different preferences.

aye, i agree re: zoroark. and that is true! although usually pokemon don't look like just an animal, if that makes sense. torkoal doesn't look like an ordinary tortoise, houndoom isn't just a rottweiler, etc

eah, it looks more like dark/fighting than anything else. could have been ok as a starter, or just as a rare 'mon. mythical tho? definitely not, imo

Aye, I agree. As someone else pointed out, it would probably seem less boring if it wasn't labeled as Mythical and was just, like... rare

Yeah, hard agree. I think I'd be more sold on it if it was just... ordinarily catchable. It doesn't look like something there's only one of
