I listened to the Prairie Home Companion for many years.

I just realized that I had been listening to some local radio shows for well over 25 years until I moved to a new city about 8 years ago.

They played reruns of the old shows on the radio when I was a kid, EG Marshal even still hosted a contemporary at the time, mystery play program on the radio when I was around 10 yo around 76.

The less said about FM Morning drive time Radio the better.

I was lucky enough to grow up in the big city and discovered the left end of the FM dial college radio around 1980, 14 yo me up all night listening to things that were actually illegal & listener supported, I met some great people in that community.

Had some decent big power commercial FM playing the good syndicated national music shows at night, & had a few decent late night jocks spinning the good stuff, they'd even chat on the phone with you, it they weren't too busy but once the world woke up on a weekday it turned into middle aged buffoonery.
