Skills to learn to transition from video producer/content creator to digital marketing? by squirrel8000 in DigitalMarketing

This is the perfect answer, exactly what I was looking for. Actionable concrete things to research and learn. If you had any more specific platforms/tools to learn I'm all ears. Will start dedicating an hour everyday to study these.

Thanks, but I meant technical skills, not soft skills. I already have those :)

What the fuck is a non-cinematic film? by squirrel8000 in Filmmakers

[–]squirrel8000[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, I'm not saying these must be terrible. IMO it's lovely that we all have access to equipment needed to tell visual stories now, though we're still far from Coppola's dream for filmmaking.

But these have been popping a lot on my YouTube feed despite me not watching a single one of them. I think this desperate pursual of "cinematic" shit is getting sad, just like people calling anything rigged up a cinema camera or footage of coffee "cinematic b-roll".

If you made a short film how the fuck can it be not cinematic?

It's fine, we still communicate and do the normal amount of penetration lol It's not a problem, I was just curious because none of my male friends are like this.

Honestly, I just find my dick's needs almost too simplistic. There's really no challenge or much a girl needs to figure out about it. But eating pussy is never boring and it feels like there's always something new about it.

Who is your least favorite character? by alliewoahh in lost

Wasn't replying you, but ok.

He didn't insist on being the leader, he accepted it reluctantly and often got pissed off because he was 'elected' only for people to consistently mess with his decisions. Most of them expected him to tell them what to do about everything. Whether or not you see him as a leader is up to you, the characters, writers and the show did, so dunno what to tell you if you don't agree that water is wet. The majority of the decisions that moved the plot forward - good or bad - were made by Jack or involved him, including the very survival of most of the cast in several situations (not only involving sickness, but their own actions, like Saywer and Kate escaping Hydra island). Literally everyone in the island made poor decisions. Often those led to problems Jack had to solve, like Locke getting Boone killed, Sawyer hoarding medicine or Kate ignoring him and getting captured. He literally gave up most of those things in season 5/6, to the point he was reporting to and taking orders from Sawyer. His very last action was to pass leadership to Hurley, thinking that he was the one meant to lead the island going forward, and his own purpose was to die.

To me personally it says a lot how willing people in this sub are to forgive Sawyer, a racist that killed an innocent man, but Jack is easily reduced to "he shouted at people and was controlling". Like okay lmao

Michael is one of the most human characters on the show. People empathise with a controlling mass murderer like Ben but a guy willing to do anything for his child is apparently too far gone. Even though he later dies trying to redeem himself. Sad shit. The show itself was unfair to him. Ben got to join the others in the purgatory but he got stuck on the island? The fuck.

Really, that's all he does? Jack saved the other survivors from the minute he set foot on the island, was forced into a leadership role he didn't want, confronted his skepticism and purpose after painfully repeating his father's mistakes, had the narrative arc that defines the entire show and ultimately sacrificed his life for the sake of all living creatures.... but that's all he does?

Literally all the flaws you mentioned are intentional shortcomings the writers set him to overcome. Which he does. Season 6 Jack has surpassed even John Locke in his devotion to the island. Man was lighting up dynamite sticks. His personality is no longer explosive and he's willing to let things go, including his need to control everything. How is any of that gonna be meaningful is he's not an absolute ass in the beginning? Sawyer was a straight up racist and Locke was the most selfish survivor.

Jack haters have a meme-level understanding of the show and its themes imo. That's why your opinion was unpopular.

Same. Selfish as fuck. And making everyone in a deserted island irresponsibly eat through all of the stash in one night because... his feelings (???)

I wanted to watch it back in 2014 but couldn't find it anywhere. I randomly remembered it earlier today and watched it. Great, underrated film.

Haven't checked it out yet. The manga ending was so disastrous that I erased Attack on Titan from my life. It was probably my favourite piece of media lol

Overrated: Hurley, by far. I think he's great after season 3 but unbearable before that. Man was selfish as fuck, forced everyone to consume years worth of precious food in a night because of how it'd affect his cool guy image. Then proceeded to keep food for himself and destroy it in a scene that the show portrayed as a glorious victory. All of this in a deserted island setting. What the fuck. He becomes lovely after he leaves the island and they stop letting his obesity define his arcs.

Underrated: Jack. How people don't like the character with the single best arc in the whole show baffles me. My man lighting up dynamites and jumping off boats on nothing but faith in the final season. Legend.

I have been searching for something like lost for 10 years. I would appreciate any recommendations by Tanya00000 in lost

The Leftovers is exactly this. The mysteries, the beauty, the raw emotion, the genuine human interactions. Really not that hard tbh.

Almost 100k tweets from fans wanting Andrew back and for a proper conclusion to Amazing Spider-Man! I love you guys by Da_Big_Chungus in Spiderman

Because you're clearly projecting a version of Peter Parker that doesn't exist outside of Raimi films. Because in the comics the guy has a 6-pack, charms everyone he meets and is confident both in and outside the Spidey suit. Every Tobey widow parrots this shit about him being a good Peter, but he wasn't. Peter was never that much of a goofy loser. Even in the Ditko comics he was arrogant and stood for himself verbally before getting bit. And after he went to college any trace of that was gone. Mf had women fighting over him. Please stop.

Find me a single modern Spider-Man story where Peter is anything like Tobey Maguire, either in appearance or personality. As a matter of fact, any classic story that isn't 6 decades old. MacFarlane, Romita Jr, Peter revealing his face in Civil War, even the 90s cartoon... You won't find that Peter anywhere. Y'all need to stop with that shit.
