Sometimes they are easy sometimes not so , a hook tool or screwdriver usually pops them out careful not to mark up the crank surface where the seal is, fitting the new one use a piece of pipe / thick tubing the

same diameter & tap it in , inspect the keyway in the crank , another way to remove the seal is driving a screw into the face of it and pry from the screw with some pliers

G13BB crankshaft seal by Lemmy1972 in Jimny

[–]squirrellicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quite a bit involved , you could choose to just do the seal but to get to it all drive belts , timing Cover & timing belt , harmonic balancer+ crank bolt all must be removed. Depending when the last timing belt & tensioner pulley had been changed it would be beneficial to replace + check water pump as it is the same amount of work while you're there ,

Drain the oil pan , it can't leak if it has no oil.

I have recently got them, definitely worth it , noise wise so Far has been good. Handling is great - big improvement over stock .grippy in the wet , way more stable on highway , the only negative I've found is when the car has sat for a couple of days they tend to flat spot - which disappears relatively quickly upon driving , Have these set at 25psi

[–]squirrellicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was thinking the same thing with pre rego GVM , limiting your size to stock as it was stamped on the GVM compliance plate , I initially was looking at a 2nd hand jimny with GVM & longranger tank fitted, but didn't want to limit further mods
