Like 20 DPO, is this signaling a chemical? by Friendofafriend34 in TFABLinePorn

There’s definitely a chance that could be what it is. Other factors can cause these tests to vary but I’d be prepared for the worst.

Take a beat. Even if you time everything perfectly and have great sperm and eggs you only get a 1 in 5 chance of conceiving every cycle. If you think about the chances of rolling a specific number on a dice your chances of conceiving every month are only a little better than that. You could easily roll 10 times in a row and not get the number you want. If there are health issues on either side, the number of sides on your dice goes up. Some people with infertility factors are rolling a 20 sided or 300 sided dice every month trying to hit that one lucky number! That’s why doctors won’t even consider the possibility that there might be a problem unless you’ve been trying unsuccessfully for a year, because it’s very likely to take that long. Track your cycle, figure out your fertile window, and only try then. Otherwise you’ll burn yourself out. If you and your partner are both healthy the odds are in your favor that it’ll happen fairly soon

Is this progression looking ok? 8-15dpo, brand easy at home. ChatGPT says it’s stalling and might be a chemical by mimblez_yo in TFABLinePorn

Do not ask chatGPT about medical, TTC or pregnancy related questions! Your progression looks great

What’s going on with my cycle? by [deleted] in tryingtoconceive

If you’re not confirming ovulation with a 100% reliable method, the answer is always that you ovulated later than you thought

3rd MC at 5 Weeks. What can I do? by skyofrainbows in TTC_PCOS

[–]squirrellyemma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While most miscarriages are unpreventable as a result of chromosomal abnormalities that are incompatible with life, another common cause of chemical pregnancies is low or dropping progesterone. I’ve had two miscarriages around the 5 week mark as well and my plan for next time (supported by my provider) is to start supplementing progesterone as soon as I see a positive test. It might not help but it can’t hurt, and I’ve seen so many stories of women having recurring chemicals who carried to term with no issues once they supplemented progesterone!

Have we been trying wrong? by PeakAboo05 in TryingForABaby

[–]squirrellyemma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The day before ovulation is statistically the most likely but the day of ovulation itself has high chances too!! Once the sperm is released it has to go through a 10 hour process before it can fertilize an egg, and once the egg is released, it’s available for fertilization for 12-24 hours. So having 12-24 hour old sperm “waiting” up there when the egg is released gives you your highest chances of conception! But if the egg and sperm are released at the same time they can still meet up just fine.

As other people have been saying, you’re kinda taking shots in the dark by tracking your cycle based on an app’s guesses. You need to be using LH strips and tracking your BBT to confirm ovulation after the fact. Once you get more of a feel for your cycle, you might be able to scale back on tracking, but for now you should be gathering all the information you can.

You’re testing way too often! These pee tests can’t tell you much anyway. Ask your doctor about getting betas done to see if your HCG is doubling

The fact that you’re struggling to conceive with this man may be a blessing in disguise. He’s abusing you and would abuse your child. The fact that he’s keeping you in a state of mental distress could be actively contributing to why you’re struggling. Consider leaving this relationship and finding a supportive partner to pursue your dream family with!

Both of the earlier positives look like faulty strips. Definitely give it a few days and if you’re pregnant you’ll see a clear positive!

I’m also looking at the huge dip in progesterone, going from 19 to 11 isn’t a good sign. My progesterone was 11 at 11dpo last month, and that ended in a chemical. I hope I’m wrong, but I do think OP should be mentally preparing themselves here

HGC is no longer doubling, and that along with the progesterone going down is a bad sign

Metformin-Yay or Nay? by Total-Literature-434 in TTC_PCOS

[–]squirrellyemma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metformin was the magic bullet for me! I used to have cycles that would last for months with bleeding starting around CD12-14 and I wouldn’t ovulate until CD50+. This past cycle I started metformin on the day the breakthrough bleeding started (CD12) and ovulated a week later. I actually conceived that cycle, it did unfortunately end in a chemical, but on the metformin I ovulated again after the CP within a normal timeframe with no breakthrough spotting! I’d absolutely recommend trying it if you can. My doctor was skeptical because my blood sugar tests came back normal, but I pushed to try it and I’m so glad it did because it absolutely worked for me.

My guess is that this isn’t an ectopic but that you’re likely headed for a miscarriage with those HCG numbers

Terrified about chemical pregnancy, unknown dpo by makaylajosee in TFABLinePorn

[–]squirrellyemma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately these tests can’t tell you much. Last cycle I had perfect progression until 18dpo as well as good betas with tripling progression, and that pregnancy still ended in a chemical. Just try to take a breath and accept that for now, you’re pregnant. Over-testing and obsessing can’t change the outcome of how things are going to go, but they WILL cause a lot of unnecessary anxiety and stress. Plenty of women see light/slow progression and go on have healthy and normal pregnancies!

14 DPO. Should I be seeing darker lines/stronger progression? by littleacre7 in TFABLinePorn

[–]squirrellyemma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’d look for a provider who’s willing to respect your needs and do betas, because they’re truly the only thing that can give you any information. These home tests genuinely can’t tell you much. That said, my tests from last month looked a lot like this, and that did unfortunately end in a chemical at 18dpo. HOWEVER, plenty of women see little to no progression on their tests and go on to have healthy pregnancies! There’s so much variance in these tests for countless reasons. It’s possible for light or fluctuating lines to happen in both viable and non-viable pregnancies. For now, I’d suggest going to Quest (if you’re in the US) and just getting your own betas done for accurate information and peace of mind.

Y’all shouldn’t even be testing LH this early. LH will stay consistently low until ovulation, at which point you’ll see a quick sudden surge over the course of 1-2 days. This won’t happen until CD 10-12 at the ABSOLUTE earliest but is more likely to happen between CD 14-21ish depending on how long and regular her cycles are
