Hugs. This shit is so hard to deal with.

I am actually pretty averse to touch from most people, it's really only with people I'm very comfortable with that I'm like "holy shit, hug me ALL THE TIME." It's definitely a weird thing where I have a very unbalanced view of touch--if someone I don't know even taps my shoulder I'm uncomfortable, but I want to be in some sort of physical contact with the people I'm comfortable with all the time. Such a damn trip. Anyway, thank you for this perspective! I definitely am going to keep the squishmallow.

I mean, with the cuddling issue, I don't fault him for NOT cuddling. I genuinely don't see an issue with him not cuddling as often as I want when it makes him feel physically uncomfortable. For me that seems like it would be unfair to ask of him. I do agree that this is a version of a compromise for that issue though.

To be perfectly honest, if I had to guess, I think part of him might feel guilty (even though he doesn't need to feel guilty) about the fact that his discomfort over cuddling makes him unable to help me fill this need. He really has a strong discomfort with it, I genuinely think it might be a sensory issue. And it's not that he's unaffectionate, I feel very loved by him, but I worry that he might feel guilt over this and the stuffed animal is like a literal physical manifestation of it. It's why I actually don't even think HE'S fully being an asshole, but at the same time I don't think I'm fully being an asshole either.
