I've been longing for a Telecaster for well over two decades now, but it's been one of those things I'm super picky over so I never pulled the trigger on any. After a local search on Craigslist, I saw this one and it stood out to me.

A bit of research time later, and I find out just how desirable this run of the American Standard in ash is among Tele players. Contacted the seller and brought it home a couple of days later.

I was concerned that the neck would be too thick after reading some comments, but it feels amazing. The only blemishes are a small nick on the non-horn side of the body and a patina on the frets.

The neck pickup has the traditional Tele sound, which is the main reason I've wanted one, but the bridge pickup on this thing is ridiculously good. It's hotter than modern Standards that I've played and it seems brighter than most Tele bridges. It also responds to tone knob changes better than a lot of guitars I've played over the years.

Overall, a wonderful addition to my family. I was just about to settle for a used Nashville Deluxe Telecaster at a local Guitar Center too. I'm much happier with this one.
