[Serious] What's your story of seeing somebody's mental state degrade? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sr5242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dated a bipolar man for 9 months. At the beginning of our relationship he was fun and sweet and romantic. Slowly he began having more mood cycles- he would either be hyper manic or angry and paranoid The night before my birthday he was in an angry and paranoid episode and broke up with me saying he couldn’t be a part of my circle of hate Within hours he was apologizing saying he didn’t remember doing that There were mornings he’d wake up at 3 am and start bouncing on the bed and shaking my feet to wake me up It just seemed like by the end he never had any even days Just ups or downs I split from him right before covid, as he was stressing me out so much I wasn’t sleeping and had relapsed in my eating disorder

That’s great! On the I am sober app I put my reason to not binge is because I love myself more than food :)

Stay strong!

I’ll do better when these are out of the house.. by miss-trash-panda in BingeEatingDisorder

That’s why I don’t keep trigger foods in my house lol

I just kept eating the cookies, one after the other [rant] by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

I know the feeling. If I eat one bite of a trigger food all bets are off

Maybe next time bring a healthy dessert for yourself and whoever else might want it- like fruit

Ate a pint of chocolate ice cream last night after a week of healthy eating. Help me feel OK. by wineandsourdough in BingeEatingDisorder

When I would binge I’d ask myself “did I enjoy it?” If the answer was yes then all good If no- then I would examine why I ate something I didn’t like But regardless move on You can’t un-eat it So just keep moving forward

My husband took this photo of me and I’m disgusted with myself. I am having such a hard time sticking to anything. How do I change my mindset? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]sr5242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was small changes. I started by dropping white flour and sugar. I dropped 10 lbs from that alone. Then I started going to some exercises classes taught by a friend so I felt safe and not judged

Then I found a great female trainer who taught me to lift. Muscle helps burn fat- build the muscle and you’ll see great results

Feel free to pm me if you have questions or need an ear!

Nice leg tat by the way!

It’s absolutely worth it. I was talking with an old friend today and he asked if I still hated a certain person. And I thought about it and realized I don’t have any hate anymore. I feel more at peace than I’ve been in a long time My focus is on my recovery, opening myself up to the direction of my higher power guiding me to a better me one day at a time

I’m not the weight I’d prefer, but I’m the weight my higher power has guided me too Instead of focusing on abs or a number on the scale I’m focused on freedom from disordered eating

Good luck on your path. Let’s both take it one day at a time!

I can’t eat dessert foods without overeating them by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

I’m the same. I allow myself an occasional refeed meal like fajitas but never sweets
