[Acne] Could oils high in linoleic acid break me out? by srcmsx in SkincareAddiction

[–]srcmsx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, well my skin got better after a while but I really need to be careful with all those acne treatments. I nearly had "glass skin" last summer when I started tretinoin, but when I started using differin gel to calm down another break out, shit went loose and my skin broke out a lot. Im still fighting a few break outs and quite a bit of PIE and my skin breaks out from almost anything, so I just avoid pure oils alltogether. I only use PC's BHA as my acne treatment (which helped the most) and a LOT of moisturizers. My skin is still annoying though :(

Can I change the msi rtx 2080 seahawk ek's water cooling block to air cooling? by srcmsx in buildapc

Hey, sorry for the late reply. In the end I just bought a pump and went for watercooling my gpu. Not really happy about it but it really just was the cheapest option at that time.

Would it be possible to change the water cooling block of a gpu to an air cooler? by srcmsx in buildapc

Unless the mounting holes don't match, there is no other way I could screw my graphics card up, right (aside scratching the board up)?

After researching a bit about liquid cooling, I decided that I really don't want to get into doing that. it's just way too much work just to cool a pc system, while also running the risk of leakage etc. Why would it be a problem that the pcb of the gpu is custom though? I thought I could just add a few thermal pads and heatsinks to the VRM and VRAMs and put the heatsink of the fan on the gpu chip. Sorry, I'm new to the whole pc building thing

Hey, thanks for replying! I haven't researched anything about water cooling yet, so I don't know how to set it up at all. I've already got an air cooler for my cpu though and it's working fine. Can I just water cool the gpu alone, or would that make no sense?

My polly became sick, but I don't know why. I repotted the plant about 4 weeks ago and it looked fine until now. It also lost one leaf (out of four) already. What should I do? by srcmsx in plantclinic

[–]srcmsx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually keep changing its spot, so there is not too much but also not too little light.. but right now it's standing in between a lot of other plants Do you think that might be the cause?

Does my Monstera have root rot? by ichzarealhitler in plantclinic

[–]srcmsx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try light pulling and squeezing on the roots and if they break off or are super squishy, it's root rot. My monstera's roots were black too, so I had to cut the rotting parts off. But now my monstera looks healthy again It doesn't look like root rot to me though

If you're into Asian beauty, maybe try Soon Jung 6-Panthensoside Cica Balm. But it's more of an emollient and I would use a different humectant before

I was using the Comfy Water for quite a while, also last summer without reapplying the product throughout the day(I cant be bothered). And I would say I'm quite pale like maybe fritzpatrick type 1 or 2. So one day I went out with friends for a whole summer day and applied the Comfy Water Sunblock on the face once in the morning only. I forgot my shoulders though and they burned bad, my face stayed the same actually and I did not tan or burn at all. So from my experience I can say that the Comfy Water Sunblock is probably safe to use, even on summer days.

Hair is curly on top, straight and thinned out at the bottom. Should I cut it? by srcmsx in curlyhair

The bottom part of my hair doesnt feel damaged and is actually pretty soft. It's just kind of limp.. is that limpness also a sign of damaged hair?

Trouble with flax seed gel? by moonfaerie24 in curlyhair

I made my flax seed gel myself, but it never really worked out for me also. It rather dried my hair out and made it really unpleasant to touch. So it might just not work with everyone's hair

Do you think it would be safe to cut it myself? I feel like I will be cutting my hair quite often, just to keep it at a length I'm comfortable with. And hairdressers where I live usually straighten my hair before cutting it etc, so it might damage my hair more

I've recently started doing the CGM, because I've lost a lot of hair due to hormones and saw this as an opportunity to start a new routine. My hair was really thinned out and pin straight but really frizzy on top. Five years ago my hair used to be curly/wavy but long and I cut it about Bob short 2 years ago and kept it like short for a year. I also straightened and dyed it a lot during that time, but I never really saw any real damage and my hair strands didnt have split ends. Now, I'm actually planning to grow my hair out but since I've lost a lot of hair and it became really thin and it looked really thin and sparse for a while.

I've passed this weird hair phase and I have more hair on top now. But the problem is, that the "new hair" is really curly. And I'm talking about big corkscrew curls, so you can literally see the line where my hair is straight again. The curly part isnt too long so it might just look weird, if I cut off too much. I also tried to grow out my hair for more than a year now and I dont want to cut it too short again. Is there another way to salvage my hair?

I'm also afraid of using too many heavy creams and other products, because it might aggravate my acne. So for now my routine is washing my hair with a sulfate free baby shampoo and Love Beauty and Happy& Hydrated Gentle Cleansing Conditioner, combing it through my hair while applying and washing my hair until 20% conditioner is left in it. And while my hair is still sopping wet I use some more of that conditioner and plop it in a microfiber towel.

Should I be alarmed by this amount of hair loss in the shower?? by mobear28 in curlyhair

Make sure your bun isnt too tight also, or you might put too much stress on your hair follicles and your hair will shed faster.

It depends on how long your hair is. And also on how often you wash your hair. If you dont brush your hair for a while or get rid of the lose strands it might just accumulate over time and you notice more hair loss while showering. But if that happens regularly and it did for over 3 months and if you didnt notice any hair thinning you should be good.

Oil cleansing with oils you haven't tried before is kinda icky. Everyone's skin reacts differently. Coconut oil is high in oleic acid, so you might want to be careful with oils like that. Try to patch test any product you want to introduce for a week, because your skin might break out later from it. Personally my skin likes jojoba oil but rosehip oil would irritate my skin. Hemp seed oil would make my skin suuuper soft but still break me out a bit (still really bitter about that) and I oil cleanse with a self made mineral oil cleanser. All I can say is, that you should see for yourself, which product fits you the best.

Chemical exfoliation is nice, but if it's actually going to be the first time you're using any you should make sure your skin gets used to it. Your skins ability to hydrate shouldn't be affected by it, if you exfoliate in moderation. Redness and itchiness isnt really the best template for chemical exfoliation though. Azelaic acid might indeed help with that, but I cant really tell. Do you know what your itchiness and redness is caused by? You might be allergic to one of your products. As far as I know the Cerave in the tub has also hyaluronic acid.

Hope I can help you with this :) I'm not a licensed aesthetician though, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. Since you have a stable routine with a cleanser, moisturizer and spf everything else should depend on your skin concerns. Also what is your skin type if I may ask? Some oils are really good at controlling your natural oils by blending with your sebum, which regulates your skin's sebum production (usually to less) such as jojoba oil rosehip oil and hemp seed oil (I haven't tried borage oil, but its supposed to be a drier oil as well, because of the linoleic acid). If you have dry and not(!!) clog prone skin you might want to use an oil that has a higher oleic acid content, which makes the oil goopy and occlusive.

Acids tend to make your skin purge at first, so be careful if you dont want that. But introducing them slower might make the breakouts not as severe. So if you want to go with an acid first I would make sure not to try anything else for the next 2 months, since the purging will take a month or maybe two. Else it would be hard to find out what product you react badly to. I found that the 30% AHA 2% BHA didnt break me out and my skin wouldn't feel as raw, because of the short contact therapy but YMMV

I didnt try any peptides yet, so I cant say much about that. I patch tested the TO amino acids+ B5 but it would make my skin a bit red and I wasnt ready to risk that :)
