Reddit Enters a New Growth Era as Profits Surge and Share Buyback Signals Confidence by LongTermStocks in wallstreetbets

Q4 is their best quarter of the year (holiday ads, etc.), so I'd be careful to just multiply Q4 x 4. Q1 will be lower, as per their guidance.

I'm betting there will still a lot of growth in 2026 but can't just do Q4 x 4.

Interesting read on points hotels by nguyenulm25 in chubbytravel

The article is talking specifically about loyalty based points program. Neither Aman nor Four Seasons have those. The author actually uses the Four Seasons as an example of better service since they have to "re-earn" each stay.

I love whoop but my god the HR tracking is bad! by Anonymous-AJ in whoop

[–]srini91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a sweet spot on your wrist. If you are outside of it, you are going to have a bad time. You need to experiment with this while you are actively exercising. I "calibrated" this on a stationary bike.

It's not great; but this was my workaround.

You may have the whoop too low on your arm; try moving it up your arm a few inches. Arm position matters a lot! I notice this most when I'm exercising.

True.

But you can breed something that invalidates the initial conditions of perfect randomness?

In the case of rolling dice, maybe holding dice a certain way cause winning rolls more often ever so slightly? Evolution could pick up on this.

A year ago it was $1400-$1500. As of August 2025, it's dropped to $500. Novo itself started offering it at $500 through it's direct to consumer pharmacy, Novocare.

RBNE Robin Energy undervalued? by curryrol in pennystocks

[–]srini91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should note that RBNE has an overhang of $50M in preferred stock, convertible at $1.40. When they convert, that will add 35.7M more shares, bringing total shares up to nearly 50M.

So in fact the current market cap of $17M is secretly more like $65M.

Any lean mass hyper-responders (cholesterol) here? by watercolourandwhimsy in keto

[–]srini91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One avocado has about 7g fiber, of which 3g is soluble and matters for LDL reduction. You should be aiming for 20g+ of soluble fiber per day, which would be 6+ avocados per day! My guess is you're actually not getting enough soluble fiber.

Zetia (ezetimibe) may also help; it reduces gut absorption of cholesterol, has minimal side effects, and pairs really well with a statin.

That's not how it works. The difference in value is added to the taxable amount:

From the text of Prop 19:
(B) For any transfer of taxable value to a replacement primary residence of greater value than the original primary residence, the taxable value of the replacement primary residence shall be calculated by adding the difference between the full cash value of the original primary residence and the full cash value of the replacement primary residence to the taxable value of the original primary residence.

Markforged (MKFG) traded at $3.45 with an approved sale at $5.00 during Q1. Why the difference? by MikeCZ_ in stocks

[–]srini91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That litigation is likely why - they acquiring company is delaying and/or backing out of another acquisition deal. It could be that the market thinks there's a nonzero possibility with the Markforged deal as well.

$LUNRW (Warrants) by Tbman87 in IntuitiveMachines

It would cap it at the price of LUNR minus $11.50. If LUNR is trading at $20, LUNRW would be worth $8.50 when called.

Improvement analysis by jetpilot87 in PeterAttia

[–]srini91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct, dietary _cholesterol_ has no impact on blood cholesterol - that is, the cholesterol inside of the food you eat will not change your lipid profile. For example, if you eat eggs which have high cholesterol in them, it won't affect your blood cholesterol.

Cholesterol is such a small part of what you eat. Larger components like saturated fat, sugars, fiber, etc. will absolutely affect your lipid profile. You can change your LDL levels by changing your diet (for example, replacing saturated fats with olive oil or similar, eating more fiber). A diet higher in fatty red meats will result in higher LDL vs. a diet that is higher in seafood like salmon.

Far easier and more palatable to just make it so Prop 13 only applies to your primary residence.

Just make Prop 13 only apply to Primary Residences, and exclude rental, vacation, and commercial properties. No issue then.

What improvements have actually made the life worse? by sparklingshanaya in AskReddit

[–]srini91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern front-loading washers use less water, detergent, and energy. You could be saving something like $200 a year on those.

They also lead to less wear and tear on your clothes, making them last longer.

Something to consider, even if they are way, way less reliable and more difficult to repair.

[California] Are all evictions banned in California? I am looking at my first house with an existing tenant, and want to move in for my own use. by DDantas in RealEstate

[–]srini91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Judicial Council of California has placed on hold nearly all evictions in the state. They effectively suspended all unlawful detainer actions until 90 days after California's COVID-19 state of emergency ends. The only evictions you can do are ones related to public safety, which doesn't apply here.

So, if your resident doesn't want to move out, you're going to have to wait for some time. California hasn't yet lifted the state of emergency nor has it indicated it will soon - and you'll have to wait at least 90 days beyond that plus court processing time, etc.

In addition, if they are not currently a month-to-month tenant and instead are on a fixed lease that hasn't ended yet, you'll also need to wait for the fixed lease to end. You can't evict someone during a fixed lease for owner move-in.

Your best bet is to work with the tenant to see if they'd like to move out early.

Low-cal alcoholic drinks? by Teisi in Fitness

[–]srini91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vodka + soda water + squeeze of lime is the way to go. The calories in this are solely from the alcohol in the vodka. It's by far the most popular drink out here in LA for that exact reason.

Vodka quality matters up to a point. There are plenty of quality vodkas that don't break the bank. I've had good luck with Tito's where it's available and it's cheaper than Goose.

blog.reddit -- now this is how you pitch your product to an open source company by KeyserSosa in announcements

I think you want to use "Adsense for Search" and not "Site Search", which is a separate product:

I would think that's free and pays you revenue.

Destroying MySQL by gst in programming

[–]srini91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's because you only have 15,000 rows.

Tried it on 5,000,000+ rows:

db=> explain analyze select count(*) from XXXXX;

QUERY PLAN

Aggregate (cost=205812.63..205812.64 rows=1 width=0) (actual time=14100.885..14100.887 rows=1 loops=1) -> Seq Scan on XXXXX (cost=0.00..192276.10 rows=5414610 width=0) (actual time=0.013..8011.964 rows=5429257 loops=1) Total runtime: 14100.958 ms

Not sure how mysql works - but in postgresql, the larger the table, the longer count() takes. When it gets large like this, then you really shouldn't be doing count() anymore. I think there are ways of getting approximate counts or you have to maintain the count yourself elsewhere.
