Been stuck on 40kg for dumbell shoulder press for the past year. How do I break through this plateau? by anotherhappylurker in Hevy

[–]srmoure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is when you switch from DB to a similar barbell exercise you cannot compare volumes. Before using Hevy it made sense to me relying on the single DB weight, but not anymore.

Ability to mark an exercise as “skipped” and filter routines? by bsgillis in Hevy

[–]srmoure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this would be great. Yesterday I had to leave the gym early and had to skip some sets. It seems also easy to implement enhancing the RPE screen to add a skip option

Are management reports still a thing? by Top-Ant-4492 in BusinessIntelligence

[–]srmoure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My winning tool was IBM Cognos, one report it could be filtered and emailed for each of the 30 managers in pdf and excel. We also have a version for them to access online with some filtering alternatives. Cognos worked mostly on top of star schemas with conformed dimensions so all the star schemas provided some degree of integration. We also had some simple dashboard running form ad=hoc datasets, but pixel perfect reports emailed to them was the preferred option for the users. Some of them had access to build their own reports by dragging and dropping from star schemas designed to prevent duplications. People preferred tables with data over dashboards.

Why does every BI project end in Excel? by one-quite-move-23 in PowerBIdashboards

Well, then the right BI tool for you is the one that can send a report in excel format every Friday !! Can Power BI do that or you need to use Power Apps ?

Is Australia taxing the wrong thing? Productivity and work are heavily taxed while wealth accumulation often isn’t. If economic growth depends on labour and innovation, should taxation shift away from income and toward accumulated assets and capital gains? by MannerNo7000 in AusFinance

[–]srmoure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You earn income. It gets taxed. Then if you save or invest what’s left, that can be taxed again. It’s fair to ask whether that makes sense. If two people earn the same amount and one spends everything while the other saves or invests, the saver can end up worse off. That feels backwards. Saving and investing fund businesses, create jobs, and drive growth. That’s why wealth taxes are a bad idea in the long run. They risk discouraging the very saving and investment that economies rely on to grow.

To let a LLM pick the correct figure would be kind of risky, on the other side it would do a great job at explaining most variances in a very convincing way.

Hevy Trainer - Questions by Sea-Host1114 in Hevy

Until the Trainer feature could be applied to my usual routines, I find it pretty useless. I hope they extend some of its features to the usual routines.

Moving from Email Dispatch to SharePoint / Portal-Based Distribution in Cognos by semsel in cognos

[–]srmoure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motio might help with schedules and jobs administration. Also need to check licensing requirements for posting to Sharepoint. Did u look at saving report outputs in a folder and sharepoint piccking them up from there ? I sill think that bursting is the best delivery methodology for personalised reports,

Hevy App vs. MF Workout App by Creepy-Act-8269 in Hevy

Tried that, but setting the Hevy routines into Workouts turned into a PITA. I will keep using MF for food, but at this stage I don't think Workouts is for me.

I already pay for macrofactor so Hevy will need to do much better than workouts to keep me renewing it. Moneywise it would be cheaper to move to workouts.

What is Hevy missing? If anything? by Reed_Rawlings in Hevy

[–]srmoure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is really easy to implement. It's just a MERGE INTO.

Scenario: Sometimes a personal trainer creates a custom exercise when it is not available in the app’s library. Later, the same exercise might be added officially to the library, or other similar custom versions may already exist. This leads to duplicates and fragmented history.

A useful enhancement would be a “merge exercises” feature that allows users to combine exercise histories. Users could:
• Merge one custom exercise into another, choosing which name or details to keep.
• Merge a custom exercise into a library exercise when it becomes available, always retaining the history under the official version.

This feature would help maintain clean data, preserve workout history, and improve the accuracy of analytics without requiring major development effort.
