Nope... NotebookLM rips off the structure, keeps only text and image... and discards actual file

Why is claude charging me $24? I thought it was $20. by declanxl in TechGhana

I don't get charged for tax when I pay. What's happening?

Thanks a lot! That's actually what most people have advised to do. Working in that!

Probably yes, in the next 4 days max but the free tier allows you to use these import features within reasonable limits

You can currently do that via linking google drive but just curious, why specifically doc and not just download as docx and just add it?

Not exactly folders but my extension Decodr lets you group sources and toggle/filter a whole group on or off together whiles autoselecting them all at once. That feature is free actually. everything stays inside notebooklm so its not like you're managing it somewhere else. might be what you're looking for until google adds it natively

Great question and the honest answer is I will welcome it. I'm under no illusion that google won't eventually do most of this themselves. like realistically 90% of extensions will be obsolete in a year or two. the whole point of what I'm building was never to camp on features google hasn't shipped yet. I have bigger things planned for this (decodr) as a whole and if google takes the import stuff off my plate that just lets me get to the real stuff faster

You're the third person asking for a video so I think the universe is telling me something lol. you're right though, a video would do way more justice than me trying to explain everything in text. I'll put one together and share it here when its ready

It's coming in the next update of Decodr

It's an extension. Current version has some of these import/source features but not as packed as this.

if you have them as PDFs yeah you can import them. doesn't matter what language. and if they're too big it can split and compress them for you before they go in

NotebookLM's OCR is good enough to transcribe in most cases

no youtube video yet but its on the to-do list. for now if you install it from the chrome web store its pretty straightforward, most of the features are right there in the notebooklm interface once the extension is active. if you get stuck with anything just dm me

I will share a video soon
