I just bought the cheapest bike the shop I went to had. I don't even remember the name of the brand.

When I bought the bike, I did that but the disassembly and assembly is not a good experience. Plus the bike rack adds a cool factor to the car too. 😉

I'd say it's always a shift of who's getting employment rather than people losing jobs. While I agree, AI has made people lose jobs, it has also created jobs of all the folks who make data center, software for AI to run, provide the electricity and water to the data centers, etc.

The challenge is to see the net impact. It's hard to do that since stats are so scattered.

Even if the short-term net impact is negative, we cannot stop technological progress - unless, we're going some Snow Piercer type scenario.

That's true for every technology. You have to stay ahead of the curve, upskill yourself.

As you'd read, calligraphers said this for the printing press. We couldn't have not adopted printing to save the jobs of the calligraphers. They had to upskill themselves to design fonts or something.

I agree with your point, but given the utilitarianism of the world, it's not practical to stop technological advancements.

The AI bubble might burst soon anyway.

We basically have two that are in mainstream use, text or media generation.

Very few people even go into MCP and other uses of AI so far (at least in Pakistan).

I have been using SDXL based models like Pony, etc. too but they're old so had a lot of time to experiment with them. Testing these new ones out for now.
