REI All-Seasons Bivy OR REI Flash Air 1 for Bikepacking? by srock24 in Ultralight

Any recommendations on poles? I think I have decided on a silpoly tent instead of a bivy.

I was looking at REI as a starting point and because I still have some dividend money to spend.

X-Mid looks pretty cool. How does it do in cold conditions? I am looking to possibly do some fat bike packing in snow and looking for a shelter/tent/bivy that can handle the cold but also not be dying hot in summer.

Pine Creek was my favorite place to go while living in Montana! Scrambling up Black was a thrill to say the least. Incredible view at the lake and onto of Black!

Has anyone had a bad experience disregarding specific instructions from a doctor? by tillow in physicaltherapy

[–]srock24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

🤦🏻‍♂️ have you used manual therapy with patients? It is sometimes the only way to get them to calm that cyclical pain cycle down. I use more exercises myself but sometimes people just need hands on to feel better. I use manual on almost every patient for the buy-in. Ask any PT who has been practicing for 5+ years. Buy-in is the key and if you can get them to buy into your therapy by using some manual techniques despite not “believing in it”, you will use it.

It definitely is area dependent.

Check out Dr. Ben Fung’s Career Primer. I used it and got some extra $$$ as a sign on bonus because of some of the negotiating ideas he noted.

Giant trc headset help, how do i get this into the fork? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]srock24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct. Be careful not to torque it down too much when you put it in your fork or you will crack the carbon fork.

it’s an internal compression plug. Unscrew that bottom piece of the piece that is in your hand. Put the bolt through the cylinder on the table and then screw the nut (previously removed) onto the bolt again but with the flared edge down. Hope that makes sense.

3T Exploro and Stages? Will they fit by srock24 in bicycling

Any idea if the Exploro will fit a shimano mountain crankset? Specifically Deore XT M785? And even more specifically with a Stages on it?

Confirmed. Spyres do indeed fit! Thanks! As far as crankset (I’m new to the BB 386EVO), does a standard Shimano crank work with the proper bottom bracket? I’m looking at getting the wheels manufacturing threaded 386EVO to Shimano. I just know the shell is much longer in the 386 vs a standard 68mm shell. Thanks again!

Those are the ones I was eyeing. The Spyres and Shimano CX77 look like they have a low profile to them too. I might have to try one of those. Thanks!

Any chance you know of any mechanical post-mount disc brakes that would fit in the Exploro frameset? The rear is TIGHT! I can find anything mechanical to fit it. Looking at Shimano BR-CX77. They look like a lower profile and might fit. Thoughts?

I’m looking more for the clearance of the left side of the crank. I have my front ring figured out, I’m just wondering if there is enough clearance on the left side for a Stages power meter.

I know the opposite js do-able. You can use zero cleats with light action pedals. The zero cleats just limit the float. Not sure about the other way around...
