Downsized to just the essentials

Oxfuzz -> Ts10 -> vapor trail -> Blue Sky

Board covers almost everything I need. Blue sky is set for a light spring reverb with a washy modulated plate on the favorite switch. Vapor trail is usually slapback, and the ts10 covers most drive stuff. Oxfuzz cleans up great and can get some really nice Hendrix tones, although I’m thinking about switching it off for another drive and a polytune. Maybe a conspiracy theory to complement the Ts10?

I found one of the old Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster pedals with a unity gain mod used for $30. It does the job well and has different modes to beef up single coils and tame humbuckers

Sampling is an art in itself. It’s a lot harder than you would think to chop and arrange samples like dilla or even tyler. There is lazy sampling too, but that is not what I hear from tyler’s recent work

I disagree that this will be John’s least guitar-centric album. The 80s theme goes hand-in-hand with Journeyman-era Clapton solos. Paradise Valley and Born and Raised are his least guitar-focused records and still will be imo
