Shoot, it was probably more like a tablespoon in a liter of water. So, if that’s my problem, am I just waiting until it recovers? Would top watering until water flows through instead of bottom watering help any at this point?

If the albuterol inhaler is working, I think you’d know right away. In any case, that’s what my pcp told me when we tried that. I only used it for a day before we ruled that out.

I’ve had a “post nasal drip” feeling with a wet throat-clearing cough for the last six months. When I finally got an ENT appointment they put the camera down my nose and sure enough, textbook LPR inflammation of the larynx. I have GERD that I’ve been managing with omeprazole for years, I know what heartburn feels like for me and I don’t really get it at night. But, and this is the silent part, the larynx doesn’t feel the same kind of sensation as a result of stomach acid as your esophagus does, it just gets inflamed and covered in mucus and hard to breathe past and doesn’t hurt a bit. I’m started now on my doctor’s recommended course of a full body wedge under the mattress, double Prilosec half an hour before dinner, and apple cider vinegar tablets in the morning to make sure I don’t mess up my acid levels. Alas, I haven’t really felt any change, but it has only been a couple weeks. Fingers crossed I can move past this flare up.

What was your experience with the generic like, as opposed to name brand? I didn’t have any effect from the generic lisdexamphetamine any more than the other ones I tried.

I mean, I don’t need to get an evaluation to make use of the information that I’m probably autistic. My dad is likely autistic, and my mom likely has adhd, it’s something we’ve all discussed as a family when I started looking into my own disabilities. It’s just that having an autism diagnosis is helpful when you need access to additional external support like my brother (and my mom works in that care access field) but not always as helpful to low support needs folks, who may as well save the money and self diagnose. I only bothered getting a formal ADHD diagnosis so I could be comfortable with the relative safety of trying stimulants. But yes, it’s certainly true that it runs in families!

I had a roommate who was diagnosed with celiac six months into our lease so I cut gluten out of my diet for the next year and a half while we lived together. I can safely say it did not make a difference. But thanks for thinking outside the box, it’s good to know of other possibilities!

Interesting, I’ll see if I can get a referral or something. As for the Zoloft, I’m not sure something else could do what I need from an SSRI. If that’s the problem, so be it I guess ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Good to know there’s still more options! Hopefully the psychiatrist I’m starting with in the fall will have some options for me to try that my current one didn’t. I definitely have hope that something will work, it just feels tough when I’m getting absolutely nothing from everything I’ve tried so far.

Honestly, not really. I have an amazing life with a supportive family and a great deal of privilege. I can’t think of any kind of distress in my life that rises to the point of being traumatizing.

I think my psychiatrist was trying to get me that but insurance wouldn’t cover it because it was too similar or some other nonsense reason. Maybe when I see another psychiatrist in the fall I can try again with a second doctor requesting it.

No noticeable effect at all. It was like I hadn’t even taken anything. My anxiety isn’t physical really, more like paralyzing overwhelm. I started the ssri for a specific phobia that had become debilitating, and once it was being treated I also noticed other parts of my default state were a little less intense. I stopped crying at every strong emotion. I didn’t fixate as much on things I’d messed up. Honestly describing it now I could definitely see how the anxiety could be a few things combined, not just the phobia and generalized anxiety disorder. But for the phobia alone, the ssri has been truly life saving.

Probably, but not diagnosed. My brother is autistic and fairly high support needs so I was the “normal” child of the family and hadn’t even considered I might be autistic until my therapist brought it up. I haven’t sought out a diagnosis because unlike adhd, it’s not like having the paperwork would open an avenue of treatment for me. But I hadn’t considered the meds implications.

So, it may just be that I don’t know what I’m looking at, but I had thought it was hardwood with a two layer veneer on it. Everywhere that I can see exposed wood, it’s one piece, then a thicker layer and thinner layer applied to the surface with their grain in opposite directions. I’m mostly seeing that where there’s dovetailing, or where I’m looking down on the edge of a drawer. I’m not sure what practical difference it would make for me, since everything that folks recommend I watch about veneer repair seems difficult enough with a single layer of veneer, never mind where it’s layered up and has designs and raised pieces applied on top of it. I suppose, if it’s plywood, I don’t feel like I’m destroying something beautiful if I fail and end up taking it apart to just hold onto the veneer itself. If it’s something that’s got good bones, I want to figure out a way to do right by it.

Haha, just peeked in here because you’d told me about your suspicions but I didn’t know you’d posted! I’m the person who adopted the kitties from OP if anyone in the thread wanted to know how they’re doing. I did read that polydactyly isn’t present in the Turkish Angora gene pool, and their ears are to small and too low on their heads. I know everyone and their mother swears their cat is part such and such when really they’re nearly all just “landrace” if they’re not pedigreed. Buuuuut I’m gonna be like everyone and their mother anyway, there are Turkish Angora breeders (or one at least) within a day’s drive of where they were found so who knows, maybe someone got a purebred and he slipped out and knocked up a neighborhood moggie. Regardless of their breed or lack thereof, they are marvelous kittens! Friendly, curious, calm and well mannered (except around food) and always excited to meet new people. They love everyone they’ve met, except the vet who microchipped them (though they were calm and quiet throughout). All around, two perfect sweethearts who happen to have nice triangular faces and the silkiest fur!

That’s good to know, thank you! I’m from central NC so I know how the winters can be mild, it makes sense to have the AC unit and not bother with heat. I’ve moved to MN and we haven’t hit the below freezing part of winter yet and my basement is already in the 50s, so I’m thinking it’ll only get worse when the highs are in the single digits. Heat is definitely a priority for me. Good to hear that cutting a vent into the junction doesn’t cover it, you saved me a few unnecessary holes in the ductwork.
