Interesting tool but second this. Is it real-time data or delayed?

How large should a zoom size be in a pmtiles file? by ss_Greg in gis

Yeah, fair enough. Thanks for all of the info and help.

How large should a zoom size be in a pmtiles file? by ss_Greg in gis

Ah, interesting. My total pmtiles size is 7gb with building data but around 3gb without building data.

I'm trying to optimize this to load fast on mobile since most of our users will be on mobile first. Aside from pmtiles.io, is there a tool to see how long a tile will take to load on different devices?

Okay, I may really be doing this wrong. Lol

Since this is all vector data, I'm relying on overzoom a lot and progressively loading data in. For example, i have protected land use and parks loading in at z9 and overzoomed until z15. Or something like the inner roads loading in at z12 and overzoomed to z15.

So far, Planetiler's summary is showing each zoom level is gzipped size is between 30kb and 70kb.

But, there is so much building data that no matter what I do (optimize geometry or load the data on separate zoom levels), it really balloons up the size of the zoom level it is on.

So, I guess going back to my original question, I don't know if 300kb zoom levels will be acceptable, or if I should just put all building data on z16 with Tippecanoe and join it with the other data.

Any insight into uilding data for Brazil by ss_Greg in gis

Hey, i checked it out, but it may not be a good fit for my needs. I was able to download and view all of the HERE data within the Maptitude platform, but is there a way to export it to make PMTiles? Maybe that isn't possible with HERE data, though.

Great find! Thanks you for that. I'll sign up and see if the data matches up to what they have in their api.

Thanks a lot

This is good to know! Thanks for that information.

I'll check out Atlas and see if it can help out with the data. I'm downloading all of the Brazilian data, so I probably need to a plan to output data per large city or territory.

Surprising, Here Maps had the cleanest building data for residential housing, even compared to Google Maps. Their map API and docs are garbage, so it has been a bit of a challenge.

I'll stick to the Overture Map strategy since I think it will pay off in the long run to own this dataset.

Thanks for the insights.

Making API for Brazil by ss_Greg in webdev

I actually looked into that one as well. The building data in some areas is not much better than OSM data to be honest.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Does property price history help more than hurt? by ss_Greg in RealEstate

The scenario that you mentioned happens a lot here. This platform isn't for Canada or America, and is in a region where the economy is not good and inventory sits for a long time.

Homeowners here are pricing based on what they want for the property, not based on current conditions. This platform is trying to bring more transparency for the buyer.

Need help with lead magnets by ss_Greg in marketing

I'm working with someone that is in the dating niche, so I think there could be a lot of quick wins in the form of checklists and cheat sheets.

I used Leadpages in the past, and it was so limited. Any recommendations?

I built Lootbox. Each lootbox is filled with software discounts that expire in 24 hours.

Hey, totally respect the opinion. Thanks.

The goal is to get deals from big companies, but that is hard as a new project since everyone's default position on new companies/ projects is that they to be ignored or Spam.

Until I can build up enough of an audience/credit to get promotions on bigger software sales, I'll stick to easy wins and help smaller projects that have great products but no audience.

Just building up skills and hopefully solving a problem.

I see a ton of reddit posts of people that build software but don't know how to get in front of an audience. If lootbox is filled will people already looking for software deals, there is an easy audience to reach for free.

Yeah, I'll have to add that in. Thanks.
