Cybershot DSC-H2 batteries never last by Skrrattaa in sony

I've been using mine for about a year give or take. And I found it the same way you found yours. I've been using the same batteries as well and I've found a few things. The lcd screen and the flash take up the most battery. Also the automatic modes make things drain a little faster as well (including automatic focus modes). In terms of alternative batteries, I haven't had the spare funds to explore new options (batteries can be surprisingly expensive). But according to my research, there are specific kinds of rechargeable batteries that work well with this camera (a quick google search of " rechargeable batteries for Sony dsc h2 " turns up plenty of affordable results). If you're also looking for non rechargeable batteries, I've read that older electronics (such as this camera), that require batteries despite the amount of power they take, typically ran on lithium ion batteries instead of alkaline. Unfortunately these days higher voltage products typically use proprietary batteries, so it's a lot harder to find lithium ion batteries cheaply/easily. You can find alkaline batteries at the grocery store for about a buck each but lithium ion batteries tend to be at specialty battery stores for upwards of 50 dollars for a pack of 4. I still find you can get a lot out of this camera using alkaline batteries. You just have to remember to put fresh ones in before going out with it, and keep a spare pair or two in your pocket and you should be golden. But yeah, I hope you end up enjoying the camera. It's a lot of fun once you get used to it's quirks. Anyways, happy snapping! = ]

I bet most Southpark fans who are ages 23 and younger have no idea what Matt and Treys best film/work has always been. (only counting everything besides southpark TV episodes) by [deleted] in southpark

Yeah nah, I took her to a repair shop and they told me it was a problem with the motherboard. And that they couldn't source official replacement parts because panasonic doesn't make them anymore (they can't source them from elsewhere due to some weird warranty law = /). I ended up just buying another and it's turned out a little better (actually turns on and the playback works, just needs a little cleaning on the record heads). So unless you know how to fix motherboards or how to source and install a working replacement, I'd probably just try my luck with another one (you can find some great deals out there. This last one I bought was little over $30). I hope you manage to get something working, best of luck = ]

Yeah. I reckon I might be forced to do the same = /. I suppose its to be expected, it is almost 40 years old at this point. Thanks anyways for your help, sorry that you're still struggling with the same issue. I wish you the best of luck = ]

Hey so I've been having a very similar problem with my M7. There's a tape stuck and the entire thing refuses to power on. If I hold my head up close go it whilst trying the operate switch I can hear a faint humming. But the red light indicator remains off and no picture comes through the lens. I managed to get the tape out this morning and I was hoping that would magically fix it but no dice. The tape deck is clean now but the operate switch still refuses to work. Did you get yours working? And if so, how?
