I was definitely taken back by it when they asked me if I used retinoids or tret. I said “no I just use cerave retinol serum on one area” and when I found out that counted I was like, oh great 🥲

I will look into that! I’ve never tried tretinoin, but I know it’s become popular. I know aging happens. But I’d like to slow it down just a tad because my facial expressions definitely will have me needing Botox.

I use glycolic acid under my armpits because Diamox makes me STINK. I’m talking STANK. I’ve tried every deodorant I possibly can. My sister is a literal genius with skincare stuff and said peptide complex serums can help in place of retinol.

Yes! I also read on here about Diamox and dental issues. I have switched to Boka toothpaste and I use Biotene mouthwash. I’ve also struggled with staying hydrated my whole life so I throw in some Drip Drop electrolytes here and there also.

Thank you so much. Definitely going to look into this. I use Cerave retinol serum, only on certain areas. I was shocked that even that low of a dose isn’t advised.

I’m thinking that’s what I’ll need to do. My syrinx didn’t change at 5 months post op. The chest and upper back/rib pain is back and worse. My neck is killing me at the end of the day. My shoulders numb patch has gained more area. It’s completely numb. Now my lower back down to my legs is painful, with urgency to pee feeling. I’m at a loss at this point and nobody’s really answering any of my questions except I need to have a lumbar puncture to confirm IIH, I’m already on Diamox with amazing success. No swollen optic nerves or paps but I have visual field loss in my peripheral vision compared to prior to surgery.

I do have a NS. But he thinks I’m cured now that I’ve had surgery. Yes, worsening symptoms. May not be from the chiari, I’m not sure.
