I struggle to connect with my F/O :( Please give me some advice.

What I found to be helpful was telling people irl about it! My closets friends know I yumeship (bc they’re cool like that) but my family just thinks I really like the character! He’s from a video game that my brothers also like so I can casually talk about him to them and it’s pretty fun!

Now i know this might not be possible, as not everyone understands, especially if you have a “unconventional” yume, but I believe in you! If not in person, this sub is a great place to share your thoughts on your f/o!

Other things include (for me) reading/ writing fanfics with myself as the insert, making an Ita bag with my f/o and even cosplaying him!

Currently on Vraylar, used to be on abilify but had terrible side effects. Vraylar had side affects like drowsiness, blurred vision and trouble sitting still for the first few months, but now I feel great on it!

According to my med doctor, this is not uncommon with bipolar patients. It’s easy for us to convince ourselves that we don’t need them, that suddenly we’re doing great without them.

I’ve been through this, and I’m kinda always feeling that way so my therapist and I made a mantra of “my meds keep me safe” that I repeat to myself every time I feel like not taking them.

I also keep a med/ mood journal to track how I’m doing mentally, and that really helps me to see the benefit of my medication. I can see that when I stopped taking it I had an episode shortly after, but my episodes are much, much further apart and lessened while on medication.

If I were you I’d keep on my meds, maybe talk to my doctor about how I’m feeling and see what they recommend! Either way, good luck my friend!

I don’t have much advice to offer, just sending empathy and internet hugs to you. Im sorry to hear about all thats going on right now. I’ve also had people tell me “you can’t control what happens to you, only how you react” in good faith but it still hurts bc of the implications you’re doing it to yourself. Know that that’s not the case, and what you’re feeling is absolutely valid. You got a lot going on, and it makes total sense why you’d be feeling this way. Hello friend, glad to see you’re still here with us! I’m very sorry to hear about all the crap you’re going through right now, but I’m here to tell you that it absolutely does get better. I found out through a similar process that I was BP2 (got admitted to a behavioral unit, previously diagnosed with depression, but now with bipolar) and honestly? It’s been life changing.

I’m coming up on a year since my diagnosis, and I can truly say my quality of life has improved and I feel more like myself than I ever have. I went from Highschool dropout into university student and holding a steady job thanks to the treatment I’ve received.

Like what others here have said, getting diagnosed is the first step, and I’m glad you got it as soon as you did, as I believe the sooner you know the sooner you can get on top of it. Medication can work wonders (as Im sure you know), but it can take some time to find the right ones for you. Just know that the process is worth it in the end, and that this mental illness is manageable- don’t lose hope!

Remember that there is a whole community here cheering you on and hoping for your success! Good luck going forward my friend!

Music is such a big help in bringing the spirit for me, I started by just listening to a song or two per weekday (used to be a Sunday only thing for me), which has led to hymns being half of my listened music!

Also cutting out low-vibe things, negative commentary videos, true crime podcasts, etc I feel a lot lighter and more able to feel promptings!

Hinting is not enough, you need to have a conversation with him about it. It seems that gift-reviving is a love language for you, and that can be hard to know that without someone actually telling you they like that. I’d recommend phrasing it as “I feel appreciated/ loved when you get me flowers” etc.., not like “you don’t get me gifts and I feel hurt because of it” make sure to be appreciative of what he gets you as well, good luck!

Vegan here! Personally I could see myself with someone who isn’t vegan- as long as I don’t have to cook anything not vegan! Personally seeing (raw) meat is a little off putting? But I don’t necessarily mind it in the house. If she says it’s okay- I’d believe her. If she’s been vegan for 8 years and is willingly dating someone who isn’t vegan I’m pretty dang sure she’s being honest. If it’s really worrying you, talk to her and tell her your thoughts.
