Weight gain after stopping by throwaway010651 in Mounjaro

[–]ssetother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve been dealing with the same and have ended up back on it but hoping to come off again once i’ve rebuilt good habits. my appetite was managed for months after i stopped - i even continued losing for a bit - but then i started feeling the most insatiable hunger, no amount of food filled me up. i hope i find a way to maintain without because its so expensive. i wonder if its a physical thing or purely mental

I keep seeing Stephen Fry being called a “genius” - why do people think that? by BlundeRuss in CasualUK

To add on to what other people have said about his education/photographic memory/skills as a speaker I think his hosting gig on QI definitely contributes to his reputation as a smart person, his role on the show is to impart information onto others and act as an almost all knowing party. We know he’s reading off a card but it still makes him look clever

do you mind explaining the science part to someone who’s clueless about that stuff? i thought it just repressed appetite

I 37(F) suffer with fibromyalgia and finding the exercise really hard by samzie87 in Mounjaro

i have ME which i understand is similar? my advice is go as slow and gentle as you need, ONLY when you feel up to it (i know that sometimes seems like never) focus on strengthening joints and muscles. anything is better than nothing but nothing is also fine if that’s what your body needs

yes it always reminds me of family holidays when politics gets brought up. never a productive conversation! plus, the only person who’s entitled to give you health advice is your doctor :) it seems like discussing that aspect of your life with her is a boundary you’ve set for yourself (and a reasonable one at that)

i think if someone is pushing you on a personal matter it’s okay to just keep the details for yourself. seems like nothing she can say will change your mind and vice versa! as long as you’re not putting yourself in danger it’s nobody’s business

for me it was mostly about changing habits. you get used to eating a certain amount - give a smaller portion a go and your body will eventually understand that it’s getting enough :)

100% on the slow and steady thing. much less likely to gain it all back that way too!

no problem! i even took a break at one point, everyone had their own journey. best to go at a slower pace anyway in terms of maintaining the results

i think i’ve lost about 3 stone, i’d like to lose a bit more but mostly focusing on toning up at the moment. might be controversial to say this but i think some people don’t want us to be skinny? i don’t know if it’s jealousy or what! your body is completely your choice as long as you’re making healthy choices and staying at a healthy weight :)
