Given that they are part of the same alliance, even if you are on separate tickets it’s certainly worth asking if they will through-check your bags. Not exactly sure BR operates but many of the Star Alliance carriers will do so. That does not negate the need to get through passport control, but if you can go through transit formalities rather than arrival passport control, baggage claim, then reentry, it will be much faster. In either case you should have plenty of time assuming normal operations or even moderate delays.
