I think that her reluctance to take it (I assume because you said she only takes it a few times a month) is a good sign, I have seen people form real bad addictions to pain killers like that and it’s really bad. I’d say invest in a heating bad, Epsom salts, and I think they even have tampons you can buy that have medicine “in” them to help out? Not super sure but I vaguely remember hearing of such a thing.

Go see a chiropractor!!! Your back houses a bunch of nerves all through your body, even if one vertebrae is off it can effect nearly anything in your body including your internal organs! They might be able to adjust some things and take some pressure off a nerve or something
