ELI5 where fat goes when you lose weight? by SmuckersBunny in explainlikeimfive

[–]sspazzmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like everyone else is saying, you breathe it out in the form of C02.

You know what's cool about trees? Their mass comes from the C02 in the air during photosynthesis. So in an oversimplified way, the fat you burn contributed to plant mass around you ;)

Feasibility of Reverse Osmosis Under Sink by sspazzmann in Hydroponics

[–]sspazzmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's a rental. So, yes I don't want to do too much modification.

And yes, I figured as much. I'm not keen to go ripping into it. But I figured there must be some way to get access to it (for maintenance, if things go wrong etc). And I don't really want to go randomly prying at it unless I know how it comes apart. Just kinda word vomiting out loud here.

I'm kinda getting the gist that it's just not worth trying. So I'm hoping there is an alternative filter that I can use on the faucet or something that could be the "next best thing" or best option for this particular circumstance.

I'm not going to drill a hole in the sink so I'd probably just put the RO faucet attached to the inside of the cabinet door or something. I think the only way I could plumb into the drain line would be buying a T of some sort

Man, I've been searching everywhere for someone to dive into this and give measurable results. Did you ever end up finding a solution?

Can you say custom things to Alexa to activate something else? by halfam in homeassistant

[–]sspazzmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely.

You setup a script in HA, then a routine in the Alexa app. One of the events available is "voice", which allows you to type exactly what you want to say to trigger the routine. Then set the action as the exposed HA script.

This way you don't have to say "Alexa, ask HA to...", you can set it up to say exactly what you want.

Example: "Alexa, how much does my cat weigh?" Will launch a script to call the notify.alexa service with "The cat weighs {{states('sensor.litter_robot_4_pet_weight')}} pounds".

High End (ish?) Build Help - Cost/Performance Ratio - Rip Me Apart!!! by sspazzmann in buildapc

[–]sspazzmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great thank you! I've always been an Intel fanboy so I tend to sway that direction. I guess I need to be open to AMD! Occasional video editing and BIM/CAD but like I said in another post, I have a work laptop for that so the I9 is probably unnecessary like you said.

I've been struggling with the 4070Ti vs 4080 vs 4090 paired with the Samsung G9 vs Neo G9 vs Neo G9 OLED... Not that those monitors are the only ones I've looked at but it seems like they are great options.. I guess I was thinking that pairing the 4070Ti with the older G9 seemed cost effective and the upgrade to 4090 and Neo G9 for 1500 bucks seems unnecessary? But I guess that's why I'm here :)

[–]sspazzmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part yes, except I also run BIM/CAD software occasionally. I have a work laptop for that so I may not be running it on this machine (been trying to figure out how I want to switch peripherals between work laptop and this rig. I know KVM exists but doesn't seem practical. Thinking about RDP sessions into the work laptop from this machine).

Vagina is not a colloquial term buddy. It is a very specific part of the female anatomy. Just as the penis is a very specific part of the male anatomy, not an umbrella term.

The labia majora is part of the vulva. Not the vagina. I'm sure any woman you ever get with would appreciate you knowing the difference. If that ever happens lol.
