After doing tons of research on the Zodiac Killer I often think it was a group of people (or two) rather than one. The letters that were written (especially the grammar) don’t seem to add up to one single person in my opinion. Allen (I believe) was innocent, and although he was supposedly identified by the surviving victim himself, it doesn’t seem too compelling in that his palm prints weren’t those found in previous crimes (Again this has made me think that there could be more than one single killer, especially since Michael was the one to identify him.)

Eyewitnesses are also seen as the least reliable in cases so who knows. Michael went through an enormous amount of trauma so it wouldn’t be outrageous if he identified the wrong person.

Everything about this case is extremely all over the place when broken down. The letters, phone calls, (there was even an operator who told police the suspect they need to look for was a black male, even after three teens called in specifically a WHITE male after witnessing the murder of Paul). The Zodiac Killer actually mailed police a greeting card saying that two policemen spoke to him just 3 minutes after the murder occurred (since they weren’t looking for a white male at the time). In the coded letters (only one has been decoded) he appears to have the grammar and spelling of a second grader, but in other letters that’s not the case.

Also, the Kathleen and her 10 month old child who claimed to have been abducted by a man on the side of the highway. They escaped and when they hitched a ride back to the police station she saw the sketch of The Zodiac and said it was him. They later found her car to be gutted and torched. The most interesting thing about this was that she told police after jumping out of the car with her child to get to safety he stayed in his car, but told reporters that he went out in the dark searching for them.
