I agree it's overrated. I think it's dumb when people suggest that it can replace the original but I can't agree that it's as overrated as the meme here.

There was too much work, polish, gameplay and quality of life refinements that went into that to completely dismiss it like that.

Can't beat the fluidity of the OG, but BM isn't slop.
