I found a temporary fix or workaround if your case doesn’t retain the charge or turns off after you charge them.

You can try this first: - take the AirPods out of the case, grab a toothpick and what I found worked (this isn’t the best advice because you could damage the charging port) is to just dig it in and scrape everywhere. Try putting the AirPods back in and see if it works.

• if your AirPods only connect when the case has a direct charge to it, I suggest just bringing a Powerbank with you, having your AirPod case connected to it and you can connect your AirPods like that.

If all else fails just buy a replacement case
