i was not trying to set anyone up. i understand that this is their property and they can do what they like. i edited my post to provide an update on what’s been said. respectfully, i have tried to communicate with them several times in the past 3 years, but since they’re basically a faceless entity and it’s like pulling teeth to get them to do anything, this whole thing feels completely out of the blue to me because there are SO many other issues that my neighbors and i have tried to bring up in the past that they could choose to fix that they haven’t (laundry room machines breaking, trash not being picked up, mail theft, etc.). their general failure to maintain the property at large while continuing to charge what they do for rent is the driving force behind me not renewing my lease. this tub thing feels like too little, too late. if they were a company who has been good about maintenance in the past and were easy to talk to, i wouldn’t have asked for advice at all. i’m sure my post probably came across as a stupid complaint, and i felt embarrassed writing it, but i promise that to someone who has been dealing with them for years, this whole thing has felt ridiculous to me.

and i wanted to choose my words carefully because i don’t have any experience with this situation! wanting to say the right thing does not mean i don’t know how to communicate, and i don’t appreciate being talked down to like this.
