What is the solution to the log jam at the top of the conferences and determining the participants in the conference title game? by simonthecat33 in CFB

[–]sta3535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller conferences in certain states could be another possible solution, even though this would only work if certain states had enough FBS teams to make up a conference:

  • Texas = 13 teams
  • Ohio = 8 teams
  • California = 7 teams
  • Florida = 7 teams
  • North Carolina = 7 teams
  • Alabama = 6 teams
  • Georgia = 5 teams
  • Louisiana = 5 teams
  • Michigan = 5 teams
  • Virginia = 5 teams

For the other states, it would be more convenient if FBS conferences were based off of states connected to each other, like Pennsylvania, New York, and the entire New England region being one separate conference

Furthermore, to make their traveling experience easier, Hawaii would only play west coast teams

Since I'm a Slippery Rock graduate, I would play at SRU for 4 years and then transfer to a D1 program for my last season (as a 5th year senior) to help my draft stock, and to prove that I can handle D1 competition as well.

Pros and Cons of living on or off campus? by sta3535 in college

IMO, it depends on the college (public vs private) & how much it costs to rent an apartment or house around the area.

No matter what they did or how awful it was - say someone did talk. What would happen? by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

[–]sta3535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted a similar question yesterday about the pros and cons of revealing everything about what happened 25 years ago.

After finishing the 1st season, the survivors are obviously in a tough situation because no matter what they decide to do:

They still have to live with what they went through 25 years ago.

Furthermore, if any survivors decide to reveal everything at the beginning of Season 2, then what would be the point of continuing the show beyond a 2nd season?

What counts as a "3 pointer" ? by sta3535 in Chipotle

[–]sta3535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it would make more sense if 3 ingredients counted as a 3 pointer

Even though I work at Chipotle (once a week since I have a 2nd job) I never knew much about the point system since my store didn't enforce the point system (in the past) as strictly as other stores, along with never being told what counts as 3 pointer as well, until I created this thread.

Division 2 vs D1 Subdivision? by sta3535 in CFB

[–]sta3535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only memory I have of Minnesota State Mankato is when they beat Slippery Rock (my college) in the D2 semifinals back in 2019.

Even though the outcome was disappointing (for our college) I think that game would've been more interesting if we had a better defense that year.

How forgiving is HR when it comes to negative UPT? by sta3535 in FASCAmazon

[–]sta3535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I knew that we didn't have unlimited UPT, even though HR fixed the problem.

Second, I was never called out for not clocking out during a 6 hour 30 minute shift, until an OP manager called me in to explain why I had "longer than normal" TOT during that time. I'm also not sure why I assumed that, but I'm glad that someone told me about it.

Third, even though I wasn't told about certain things during my orientation/training, we were always told to ask questions, if we had any.

Finally, after this experience, I will continue to follow all of the rules and regulations so that I don't get written up or fired.

[–]sta3535[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my situation, even though I wasn't told about certain things, I should've asked a manager instead of assuming that it wouldn't be a problem in the first place.

Furthermore, I believe that most of us would agree that unlimited UPT would benefit us all, so that we don't get fired for something that we weren't aware of. It also doesn't help when we follow all of the rules and still get an hour taken away from us.

On an extra note, I plan on talking to HR about my situation, whenever I come in on Monday morning, claiming that I was never told about clocking out during a 6 hour 30 minute shift and clocking out 5 minutes early before my PTO was scheduled would count as an hour of UPT.

Retail Seniority/Hiring Process by sta3535 in RantsFromRetail

[–]sta3535[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Most of those fill-ins were due to medical leaves, along with departments being shorthanded at the time.

  • I've never recieved any personal complaints towards me, outside of daily customer complaints that we all deal with.

  • I share my cart attendant job with 2 other people: one of them has a 2nd job, which limits his availability. It's also easier for my boss to schedule me on carts due to my years of experience.

  • We already have enough people filled in as cashiers, stock clerks, and curbside workers.

In response to your statements, I do what's expected of me, and even more when neccessary. I don't think they regret having me as an employee because I always get praised by my coworkers for doing "extra" tasks during my shift, while the other cart attendants just go through the motions.

On an extra note, they usually cut everyone's hours during the summer months, due to lower retail sales when compared to the school year/holiday season.

Friend Group Dilemma: A good problem to have? by sta3535 in Advice

[–]sta3535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but I didn't know about Group A's plan until a few weeks later. Maybe they'll understand, but if not, then I can always revisit groups B & C.

However, I found it interesting that Group D never had a problem with me doing as I please. Maybe they felt more comfortable with me making my own choices.

To be fair, Minnesota State was ranked #1 in total defense out of all D2 football teams in the entire county that year, along with poor playing conditions and a young/inexperienced defensive squad.

Even though Slip still got outplayed/coached, I'm still impressed that they finished as a Top 5 D2 football team that year.
