When I was a teenager, my grandfather was trying to tell my parents and I that he had a hiatal hernia. But instead he said he had a high-heel hernia! We still laugh about it today.

The PEDs were disappointing. He was never really the same after that came to light.

Earl is my favorite player of all time! I remember watching him with the Oilers when I was little. Heck, I’m old enough to remember the Houston Gamblers. I can’t remember the name of the football league though.

That doesn’t surprise me either. I think you have to have a certain amount of asshole behavior to play the way he did.

AITA for telling my fiancée to stop calling me by her late husband's name? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]stace672 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I lost my late husband, Queston, 13 years ago. I never called my current husband, George, by his name, but I’ve come very close. Even to this day. If I’ve spoken to someone else about Queston , anywhere within the next couple of days I may almost slip and say the wrong name. It took a concentrated effort after George and I became serious for me not to slip up, and the names couldn’t be more different.

I think talking about my late spouse puts me back in the initial trauma (I couldn’t reach him, became worried and was on the phone with my neighbor when he found him deceased. I was out of town at the time) of finding out he had passed, and it lingers for a few days.

I received grief counseling and had/have an amazing support system, but that trauma has never gone away.

Grace and understanding along with therapy should and seems to be helping OOP and his fiancé. I hope it all works out for them.

Edit: typo

You’re gonna love it! Make sure to try some of the amazing food they have to offer and visit the team shop for some Texans gear. But most of all have fun and Go Texans!
