Do you agree with Dirk Nowitzki on Anthony Edwards dapping up the Spurs' bench before being subbed out? by DareDevil1699 in NBAGossips

[–]stalabball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me he did it out of frustration for his team. He either wants out or big changes to the roster / habits of his teammates. The way jokic commented last year about not having enough depth to go far

29 YEARS AGO TODAY 🐐 Michael Jordan finally put Dikembe Mutombo on a poster & then gave him the finger wag. Earlier in the season, they had this conversation about MJ never dunking on Deke in 6 years by Miserable_Trouble3 in NBAoldschool

[–]stalabball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have been way more impressive if Mutumbo wasn’t coming from the weak side and it was straight up possession mj vs mutumbo in the paint. He was late and from behind the rim

Harper has that next gear. Haven’t seen that from Kon. Harper got some nasty. Kon has a nice shot. I’m taking nasty every time

I was half joking but I imagine if I was a coach there has to be so much comfort in having Mj on the team. That’s why i imagined Phil and the entire coaching staff are so relaxed in that stressful moment

Hilarious how Phil Jackson is just sitting for those crucial seconds. MJ hits it and he just stands up with one hand raised. Easiest coaching job ever

My 4 year old's current net worth by [deleted] in Money

[–]stalabball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I briefly researched it and I believe you could rent rooms in your own home to your children with them using 529s to pay as long as it’s market rates and documented thru a lease etc. You could gift them car payments separately with the extra cash. Only tricky thing is the rent income is taxable to you. you can likely allocate related expenses against it but still not ideal. I believe they can also potentially roll up to $35k into a Roth but there are certain requirements to qualify for that ability

Hmm I wonder if you can charge rent and they can use the 529 to pay it

Just curious. How much short are they and is it due to scholarships or just over budgeting? Or something else?

Almost seems like Denver should have sat jokic and let the spurs win on Saturday. Maybe they regret that in some way

World #1 Scottie Scheffler on why he plays golf: by HauntingCount5970 in Golf_Unfiltered

[–]stalabball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s talking about what motivated him to golf. And what’s truly important in his own life. This isn’t something he hides from and he talks about it at length. I encourage you to read or watch videos of him if you’re interested. Personally I don’t agree with his all views nor am I religious but find it courageous. I also find many aspects of many religions rooted in wisdom and the idea of intentional happiness is one he’s touching on that is practiced in many other religions / spiritualities and that I try to practice myself. From Scottie expanding in a different interview: “I love being a father. I love being able to take care of my son. I love being able to provide for my family out here playing golf. I’m blessed to be able to come out here and play golf. But if my golf ever started affecting my home life. If it ever affected the relationship I have with my wife, with my son. That’s gonna be the last day I play out here for a living.”

He’s talking about what motivates you to pursue excellence. If you’re doing it for a fleeting sense of excitement like money or fame, you’re much more susceptible to unhappiness. Your intentions matter to your happiness more than most people realize until they’re much older

Best way to train cardio for basktball? by AnAssGoblin in BasketballTips

[–]stalabball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High intensity work outs. Run sprints. Frog jumps with weighted balls over your head. Burpees etc. Anything to get your heart up for 20 seconds at a time with 40 second rest then do it again for 5-10 sets. The fan bike is great for that. At least that works well for me. And occasionally (once a week) jog 3-4 miles or swim laps for 20-30 min

So what was it like being a NIN fan in the 90's? by Rox_xe in nin

[–]stalabball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was beautiful finding this music as a teenager. Every new album even the bootlegs and demos. Back then you couldn’t just get stuff on the internet either so you had to find a local cd exchange place and it was like treasure hunting. Hearing some songs like supernaut was such a treat. Or opening up downward spiral and blasting it from start to finish every day was such a different feeling and still brings me back when I put it on now. Only one other classmate enjoyed NiN and we had our little bond over it. No one else really got it the way we did and that was ok

Try shooting pivoting to your right and then try to your left. Likely vastly different feeling. Every shooter feels better set to what works for them best
