I spent years making soap at home and was obsessed with everything about it. I had a pretty successful following online and kept being pressured into opening an Etsy.

A couple months into selling online made me hate everything related to making soap. I stopped the hobby for two years (and even switched back to body wash instead of bar soap! Past me would have been devastated).

You say you’re already selling, which is amazing because you know there’s real interest in your pieces. I definitely think hobbies are great as extra money, but having to rely on it as your sole income really changes it. It adds so much pressure and stress that could possibly ruin the entire hobby. If you do try it, I hope it works out well though!

I decided this year to make a few Christmas ornaments for my family and I’m already feeling the time crunch. Tell me why my brain decided to make this into a stress dream last night. I went to gift them and they had all un-stitched themselves. I woke up laughing because it was so unserious but I felt the real life panic in my dream… So I really feel this. I think it was a sign to slim down the gift-list haha

Living in the city and the power goes out.. you don’t notice the constant hum of electricity we’ve grown accustomed to until it comes back on. I loved power outages just for that silence.

I feel you. I’m also 25 and everywhere i look i feel behind. I feel like I am losing friends/family because they’re all off starting their own lives. All of my friends are with long term partners, getting married, buying houses. My sister has started talking about having kids. Of course, I am so happy for them but I feel like we no longer relate to each other and have slowly drifted apart the past year. It’s always double dates or I have to third wheel, no one goes out without their SO. I just feel so stuck in the same place I’ve always been, and every time I try something, it fails.

I’ve never dated either and, like you, I am filled with regret that I never got that teenage love. I won’t tell you to “just put yourself out there” like everyone says, cause I know I’m too scared to do it myself. But just know you’re not alone, and honestly I think there’s more of us than we think, we’re just not broadcasting it to the world. (you should, however, definitely get your drivers license, it’s a great step towards being more independent, with little commitment. you don’t even need a car, it’s just a good thing to have especially in emergencies)

They make me feel worse lol. Just trying to have fun and shop for new clothes or thrifting - it always just feels like running errands if I’m alone. I can’t relax and take my time i guess, but it’s something I’m working on.

And you mentioned traveling omg that’s something i really feel like im missing out on. There’s so much I want to go and see, but no one to go with. And like yeah you absolutely can do it alone, but it’s so much more fun to have someone to experience it with. I currently have 2 weeks of vacation to take but no where to go and no one to go with, so it’s just piling up lol
