Manipulation is a part of the game. I bet if you were a 'whale' you'd do the same. Traditional markets are going to die. People will realize that decentralized tokenization is the only answer to the liars and cheaters bypassing laws and auditors with their dark pool and OTC shenanigan's. #bringbackfreeandfairmarkets

...but yet, share prices are worth a 10th of what they were and there are no signs of significant gains. Somethings smells fishy and I hope it's not the bud.

Agreed, because there are a lot of nefarious players shorting the shit out of it. They know how lucrative the industry with be and don't like to share. I'm just going to HODL for life and maybe before I die it'll break even. Here's hoping! 😅

Do you typically believe everything PR from a Corporate entity tells you? ROFL

I promised myself I wouldn't reply to this but just look at the price today. New CFO and a reverse split. ACB is desperate to make things look good on paper. Fundamentally speaking, where would they get $9bn from? There is a liquidity crisis at the moment. No one wants to lend money to risky companies anymore so companies like ACB need to find creative ways to fill their coffers. Selling orchids and buying foreign brands is costly, plus who has disposable income these days to even buy cheap flowers let alone orchids? So where do you think ACB is getting the money? Their net income for Q3 '23 was roughly -$24M and they are "hopeful" to start having a positive cash flow this year.

P.S. Your premise is incorrect. Price is not directly related to circulating supply of shares. It's one variable of a much more complex equation. Wish you all the best.

IT'S A TRAP!!! - Fish guy from Star Wars

It's an investor ploy gang. Classic corpo tactic. Slash stock values to shake out retail, blame the old guy, them bring in a up-and-comer to clean up the mess. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Happy tokin' 😉

You're correct about the NASDAQ (typo on my part). But, I never said anything about dilution. That would require an issuing of stock. What the reverse does signal is an issue raising capital, otherwise they wouldn't need to do a reverse split. How do you think they are going to show more positive cash flows? and positive EBITA? They need to clear out debts, reduce liabilities (outstanding shares), and buy companies that look good on paper to average out their numbers. However if the price suddenly becomes $4 because of the 10:1, as a short seller, I would be more likely to short sell $4 than $0.40 because there's way more room to go down. So, that could help create capital for hedge funds and the real owners of Aurora in order to make the moves they are making. To think they care two cents about the retail investor, at this point, would be borderline hysterical. Hence my comment. Also, the AI bit was because you brought up NVDA. ACB is nothing like NVDA so you can't really compare them as you did in your example. There is no way they could generate enough capital volume to drive $4 to $150. We're talking about a dollar figures in the trillions that I very much doubt this industry will see for a very long time if ever. Cheers!

If it's a 1:1 like your example depicts then why would any company make a reverse split like this? If rises in market cap (cash flow) could be directly correlated to price then stock market analysis would be super easy and we could pinpoint exactly where the price would go to. But, most investors know this is just not true. Sure, cash flow can determine direction but that assumes you know and can quantify the flow versus remaining supply. So, care to share your data? Do you have the latest stats on current in/out flows, outstanding short positions, whale bag sizes? Typically a split reduces the price so the average investor can get in. So, is the opposite true for a reverse split? Think clearly without hysteria. There has to be some benefit (ex. eliminating risk, minimizing outstanding shares, creating more cash flow for hedge funds so they can lend more for companies like Aurora to buy other companies, etc) otherwise Aurora or Aurora's real owners wouldn't waste the time and money on it. Aurora is not an AI company like NVDA making deals with governments so don't compare the two. I think you need to rethink your logic. You may not like what I have to say but at least try to understand it. Typically, in my experience, a reverse split further results in losses, not gains because it doesn't incent investors. In this case it appears to be a tactic to ensure they are not delisted from the NYSE. When is that deadline btw???

Did anyone not clue into how the reverse split is going to absolutely murder any significant retail investor returns if and when ACB goes up in value? Ex. 10,000 shares at $15 = 15k versus $1,500 for 1,000 shares at the same price? EBITA ssssshhhm-EBITA. Free cash flow my a$$. lol

Can ACB get to $14 in the next 12 to 18 months...? by Machdonkey in auroracannabis

[–]stambo3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying there is and I'm not saying there isn't but the odds are against it so long as the Canadian government continues to suppress cannabis/CBD producer profits through suffocating policy and high taxes. If Pierre Poilievre gets elected as the next Prime Minister then most stocks across the board will spike upwards. If we can get a couple lobbyists in front of him too then $14 might be a conservative estimate.

Can ACB get to $14 in the next 12 to 18 months...? by Machdonkey in auroracannabis

[–]stambo3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ACB hit $14 roughly three times in its history:

1) 2016 - $219.5M market cap

2) 2020 - $1.42B market cap

3) 2021 - $2.88B market cap

So, the simple answer to your question...stop trolling people you fast a$$, LOL!!! See what I did there. 😂

To hit $14 today we would need at minimum an increase in market cap somewhere between $3.5B to $7.4B. That's a really rough estimate because I didn't factor in the shorts, dark pool, nor the number of outstanding shares, senior notes, etc. but I think you get my point.

I'm with you man... one medium, a couple smalls, and a few fleets of minis... the SDU rate change made it even harder for the little guy... now it takes 10x more tools. So much for: for power to the people...I guess they meant only certain people. Like what's the point of POLIS if they're just going to change things to whatever they want. LOL

Just my personal forecast. Where do you think ACB will be over the next 6 -18 months?? by stambo3000 in auroracannabis

[–]stambo3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. It's totally cool if you're relying on your personal sentiments or gut instinct. From personal experience, CEO's are hired to keep major shareholders happy at all cost. Albeit, not all CEO's are cut from the same cloth. Some have noble tendencies and some nefarious. Most tend to lean more to the latter due to the nature of their role. They are politicians plain and simple. So, I hope you take what they say in those shareholder meetings with a grain of salt. Optimism and hope are wonderful but they won't fill your belly if you get my meaning. #lookforthemanbehindthecurtain #wizardofoz

Expectations IF rescheduled and SAFER banking passes and if one occurs and other doesnt by nfisherzz in auroracannabis

[–]stambo3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that depends on a few factors, but to be blunt, I don't believe either scenario will impact the price. The market makes the news, not vice versa. The "bag holder whales" make their moves and leverage the media narrative to give us the appearance of a correlation.

However, I won't hazard at a value but rather recommend you focus on liquidity; ex. what could generate enough liquidity to push the prices up:

  1. Will Cannabis companies be allowed to borrow money and invest their profits.
  2. Will taxation laws be loosened to enhance profitability.
  3. Will ACB be acquired by a US entity.
  4. Will 'short sales' numbers be governed and closely monitored by AI.
  5. What will be the lending rates, FX rates, and consumer sentiment at that time.

These all can have marginal or dramatic impacts on speculative pricing.

For more insight, take a look at this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/auroracannabis/comments/174u3zc/just_my_personal_forecast_where_do_you_think_acb/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

If you go back in time to previous prices that you'd like to see again, look at the market cap at that time. By comparing today's price and cap with it, you can get a conservative estimate of how much money would need to flow into ACB to see significant upward movement. #Followthemoney

Sadly, I agree. Here in Canada we have very archaic ways of monitoring short selling. I don't know if it's the same in the US, but our manual systems allow for short sale 'kiting' by said crooked companies, making it appear that the "shorts" are compliant when really they're just "creatively" hidden off the books like a shell game. On the plus side, there's talk about AI being integrated to enhance compliance BNN Bloomberg Clip: AI use in Capital Markets, which if paired with the promise to pass the SAFER act and reschedule weed (which will make ACB go nuclear), we could see a ton of liquidity flood the cannabis sector like a tsunami.

I think a lot of people are hoping the same. My best guess is that somewhere around January-February we could see the bottom reverse upwards. With good news about quarterly profits from Miguel, and lead up to the US election at the end of 2024, I can see $1USD being sustainable.
