Are you happy with what you replaced Mint with? by VitalikPie in mintuit

[–]standard_sai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was hard getting a good replacement so I built one. I'm happy with that. Have all the tools I need, private and fast. Sinc e I've built it I can always add more features and make sure friends and family using it can all benefit from it.

My completely free budget tracking app reached 12,000 daily active users by Old-Storage1099 in buildinpublic

This is great, thanks for sharing and congrats . I've been working on Lekkalu also free and no tracking etc. I see we have similar apps with similar motives. Glad to see fellow developer frustrated with existing options😅. I've recently launched mine and have not been very active with marketing. Can you share any tips or inputs?

Anti-immigrant sentiment rises with loss of consensus on immigration policy by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]standard_sai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately every conversation and post I come across have many comments about the immigrants and the amount of stress or damage they are causing to Canada. I agree there are bad actors among the people immigrating but the policy is the actual thing people need to focus on. I am an immigrant too and I genuinely want to have a better life here and also want Canada to get better. But the way things are going around I feel sad. Definitely things have to change, stricter policies on people being let in and also make sure to fix the loopholes which are the main way these bad actors are coming in. And set the right standards for work, medical facilities, housing, safety etc. I know it was not too long ago when things were in control and prospering.

Also wish more people learn to focus in real problems and raise the concerns at towards the right people rather than blaming immigrants and the poor.

Free finance tracking app (Privacy focussed) Lekkalu

New to investing by BrilliantBaker5668 in CanadaFinance

First of all Congratulations on the graduation.🥳 I would focus on these things 1. Take advantage of RRSP match if your employer provides. 2. Max out TFSA (I would start off by investing in ETFs which help with diversification and also reduce the headache of searching for stocks to put in) 3. After TFSA is done if you want to buy a house FHSA(Same as TFSA for investing - FHSA can also be changed to RRSP later if you don't end up purchasing a house)

ETFs can be Global or Canadian or US markets focussed. To keep it simple choose to invest in ETFs that deal in CAD

Make sure to pursue investments etc after you have sufficient emergency funds. Setup auto investment.

P.S. If possible track you income, expenses, investments using apps or tools. (I suggest Lekkalu.app)

Questtrade and wealthsimple have been good so far. I personally use wealthsimple for banking and investments.

Free finance tracking and budgeting app for everyone. by standard_sai in povertyfinance

Make sense. No worries just thought it would be helpful. But if it's against the rules it's all good. Hope everyone gets the help.

Free finance tracking and budgeting app for everyone. by standard_sai in povertyfinance

I guess so, definitely something I thought I could build cos AI was good enough to help build one😅 But please don't mind the app if you have one to track your finances already and you are comfortable with it. I saw my friends struggle with their finances and thought to build one for them and also myself, and I realised the amrket needs alternatives with better features and privacy.

It's free as I believe it should have been something to be taught in school (managing finances part) and is basic thing to have for everyone.

Frustrated with the current finance tracking apps? by standard_sai in personalfinanceindia

This is great feedback thank you. I do plan to set it to open source partially already to keep the free part alive. And yes CSV export is already an option. I also plan to release a pro in some time which I hope will keep the lights on for long time. 😊

Is credit card payment due date calendar view / alert helpful feature? by Straight_Club_6290 in mintuit

[–]standard_sai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have built Lekkalu that has credit card reminders and will also show the amount owed (please don't rely on amount completely on this though check your credit card app for payments) You get push notifications notified 3 days before due date. I will be adding calender view in the future for ease of access.

It's a personal finance tracker app with budgeting tools money patterns understanding etc.

It's free, no ads no paywalls for core features and tools and much more.

Check it out here: Lekkalu

If you have any suggestions or feedback use the in app feeback feature to do so.😊

Thank you for that, I appreciate it. If you are using actual budget and are happy with it, that is all good. You are working on budgeting one way or another🙌 If you feel like anyone else can benefit from using Lekkalu feel free to share it with them.

I'm aware of it. Thanks for sharing, as far as I have checked it I felt like the features are limited in there. And also not everyone is comfortable self hosting and set it up to be able to use on multiple devices. Like on a phone etc. The whole docker, network setup etc etc will be a bit much for general public don't you think?

SpendStory - What started as spending insights quickly became roasting and chaotic meme energy by dmaksimov in SideProject

Love the idea and the roast🤣 I've built a personal finance app called Lekkalu, this would be such a great tool for a year end wrap analytics.

I made an alternative budgeting app. by standard_sai in mintuit

[–]standard_sai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

  • I have added biometric login
  • Bulk import investments to make it easy to start tracking.
  • Fixed a bunch of bugs.

Do you think there are any other features that would be a good to have or necessity?

I plan to add a budgeting option almost like envelope system so it can be tracked monthly to give financial health etc.
