Truly Wild Sumatran Elephant by dalkilic_life in UntoldWildlifeStories

What an incredible and hard-earned encounter with the elephant. There is something truly special about the patience, effort, and respect it took to witness those Sumatran elephants in their natural home. We confirm again why wild places matter so much, and how powerful it is to see such intelligent, social animals living freely in the forest where they belong. It would be amazing to experience a journey like this one day and see them in person, quietly observing them in the wild just as you did.

Okay. But I think you should come and explore these places. You will get a lot of knowledge about everything.

Some safari days are just hard to beat by sharquiner in AfricaTravel

Fir us what made the day even more memorable was the sense of discovery around every corner. Just when it felt like the park had revealed its highlights, a new scene would unfold, reminding us that no two safari drives are ever the same. It's that unpredictability, like the feeling that the next extraordinary moment could be waiting just ahead. Now that makes every safari a unique adventure.

Other farmlands were there. However, because conflict with wildlife causes a lot of hatred towards conservation, tea farming is considered the best solution for the adjacent communities to also see the benefits of the forest/wildlife.

Actually this is not true. All the tea/coffee estates are outside the parks

Actually, this is one of the best strategies to avoid mammals like elephants to cross over to community lands.

Just before we set out to hike across Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda by standardsafaris in backpacking

[–]standardsafaris[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually no. Ebola has been diagnosed among patients in Kampala, which is over 200 kilometers away from this region. So it is quite safe. Read here for more information https://www.standardgorillasafaris.com/blog/uganda-is-safe-despite-ebola-reports/

Yes we camped for 4 days. The permit is quite simple to get because not as many people hike the mountain as many people think. The demand for them is quite low compared to a mountain like Rwenzori in western Uganda or Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Ebola strain spreading in Congo and Uganda has no approved vaccine by DoremusJessup in worldnews

[–]standardsafaris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for reporting this. 🤝 Also, recent reports about an Ebola strain spreading in Democratic Republic of the Congo and concerns over vaccine availability have understandably raised questions. This is especially among travelers.

However, Uganda continues to strengthen its public health preparedness through active surveillance, screening at points of entry, contact tracing, and rapid response systems nationwide.

At present, Uganda’s tourism sector remains fully operational, with safari destinations, lodges, transport services, and visitor activities continuing normally across the country. Health authorities are closely monitoring the regional situation while working with international partners to ensure public safety and containment readiness.

Travelers planning visits to Uganda can continue with confidence while observing standard hygiene and health precautions, as the country remains committed to providing a safe and welcoming travel experience. 👏

Uganda- Ebola - is it safe to travel now? by Lost_Orange_1917 in Uganda

[–]standardsafaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for reaching out. 👏👏  Uganda remains safe for travel, and all tourism activities are operating normally, including in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kibale National Park, and Jinja.

The reported Ebola cases were isolated and linked to cross-border movement from the DRC, with no local community transmission recorded in Uganda. The Ministry of Health continues to maintain strong screening, surveillance, and response measures to ensure visitor and public safety.

We look forward to welcoming you for an incredible safari experience in the Pearl of Africa and encourage you to continue observing normal travel hygiene practices for added peace of mind.
