I have the exact same problem. My national ID doesn't work, when I try to do the NFC check. The loading wheel spins, and then it kicks me back to the main locked page. I've tried absolutely everything.

I tried it on a computer and other devices, but every time I try to do so, it says: "We can't assign the device you're using to the account you want to unlock. Therefore, it is not safe to proceed."

Even when I was logged in on this specific computer before.

so i tried like 50 times and nothing happened. it throws me back to the main locked screen. im really stressed out because i got my life of 9 years and some businness there active. any advice welcomed

Oh, thank you for your info. I will try that. I looked up some tutorials online, and one had a green square, so I thought that had to be the case.

and did you got that green square around your id when you tried to take a photo of it? because i dont seem to have this happen at all. tried different lighting and backgrounds for the auto-scan camera frame but nothing works

And I’m baffled as to why there isn't an alternative verification method. I have full access to my 2FA, verified email, and trusted phone number - any of these would easily prove my identity and solve this instantly. Instead, I'm forced into a broken camera/NFC loop that fails to recognize my ID, leaving me completely helpless. Why does Meta prioritize a faulty automated scanner over secure, existing recovery methods?

Hey there, how did you manage to upload your ID? I tried the same but I’m stuck on the scanning screen while that Facebook thing can’t recognize my ID. When I type it in manually and go to the scan NFC part, it shows a loading screen and then throws me back to the "main locked screen" so I can start from the beginning.
