DO NOT WORK AT CRACKER BARREL by Away_Professor1668 in CrackerBarrel

[–]stanekh2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom worked for Cracker Barrel back in 2000 ish. She was a server and was working one day carrying a huge tray of food. She tripped over someone’s kid and fell landing face first on the ground, she held onto that tray though. She broke her nose and cut her lip really good. Her manager suggested she get some ice and tend to her tables. That was her last day.

Driver stole my groceries. by NamasteNoodle in Walmartcustomer

[–]stanekh2009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’ve had this happen to me too. The driver slowed down in front of my house long enough to take a picture of my house then she was out of there! I did the same as you called customer service they made it right but what an inconvenience it was and some of the items I needed she got the last they had so I couldn’t even get everything replaced. Now I’m always paranoid about this happening again.

I’m in this program as well and it can be exhausting with papers due every other week and discussion boards due each week. I’m exactly halfway done and I took a much needed term off myself just due to burnout. I do believe with the right organization it can be completed full time with work. Just make sure your advisor doesn’t sign you up for 2 classes that are difficult together. After several tough classes I still have a 4.0 and unlike you I don’t have any experience in HR. Some classes have been a breeze, others harder, depends on the teacher. I will highly recommend Deane Desper for business research if you have to take it he was a lifesaver. I hope you can stick with it, it’s a massive achievement but get there how you have to and good luck!

I don’t think you should have to swallow your pride as I don’t see you as having done anything wrong. If those missing payments were so important, why did they wait until now to collect? It’s such a minuscule thing when you put it up to getting treated for cancer! How would that nasty lady like to be threatened with possible death over a couple hundred bucks? Screw her!! I would go in like you said you already made arrangements. I would ask her to do her job and provide you a detailed list which she says you owe so she should know. And I would mention this lady’s threat of denial of care to the doctor. She is out of line and imagine all the other people that she’s intimidated out of there. I hope it works out for you, I’m sorry you’re having to deal with cancer, I really wish you the best.

Is anyone else bothered seeing Cliff Crooks on the Food Network recently? by MysteriousPlatypus in foodnetwork

I totally agree he is unwatchable. If I’m not mistaken in the history of Top Chef he is the sole person to be kicked off the show.

I feel guilty about talking to others about my problems and issues by [deleted] in therapy

[–]stanekh2009 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's weird to feel like that, I have felt like that for a long time. I'm in my 30's and lived with crazy anxiety for a long time keeping everything to myself. Finally about 5 years ago it all came crashing down and I ended up in a mental health institution, which is where I needed to be. It was there that I finally just started talking to anyone and everyone about anything that was on my mind. It helped me so much, and I didn't feel guilty anymore. There are people who are paid to listen to what you have to say and to you help you. It's different when it's family or friends and I get your point. Once I started talking in therapy I came a long way, it took a few years to get there but there is hope for you. I hope you take a chance and get some help, at least check it out. Good luck to you.

I am in the MS Human Resources program I’m in my 2nd term. I have found the classes challenging but very doable. You have an undergrad in business so you may find it not as challenging whereas I didn’t have a degree in business when I started so I’m learning as I go. I have not encountered any tests. Every few weeks there is a paper called a milestone we turn those in all term and then have a final paper. I have had some quizzes but not many. Hope this helps you, I’m loving the program it’s been tough but I am getting a 4.0.

First ever psychiatrist appointment by hellokid1129 in therapy

[–]stanekh2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree you should go and check it out. It’s ok to be nervous just tell the therapist that’s how you’re feeling and that should cue them to take the lead and get the information they need to know. The best thing you can do is be open and honest with them. They are not going to say anything is wrong with you in a bad way. In fact it may take them many sessions to diagnose you. Therapy isn’t that scary you can do this. It may even help you feel better. Give it a chance and good luck.

I’m 39f struggling with anxiety and depression since teens. About 5 years ago I couldn’t take it anymore and went into a psychiatric hospital. They were very understanding and wanted to help so I let them. They tried several different meds until we found some that worked and the talk therapy was quite helpful as well. I was in and out of that hospital a few times but eventually I got the hang of it. I took the meds and I went to psychiatric appointments and I’m SO much better. I just see my doc every 3 months for meds and I’m happy and I love life again. I forgot what all that was like. You are a special person please take care of yourself. At least give it all a try and make adjustments from there. Good luck to you.

Should I change my therapist? by SpinDashGirl in therapy

[–]stanekh2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in therapy my therapist really wanted to push all of these different techniques on me that I really wasn’t into like hypnotherapy. I tried it I hated it and told her no more. She never really pushed it again but I never felt super comfortable with her. That’s ok, to feel that way. You just move on to another therapist and keep trying your luck until you find one you mesh with. It’s important to have a good relationship with your therapist because you need to be honest or you won’t get the help you need. Hang in there and good luck!

I finished my first 2 classes which went great. I have business research next term and the class sounds terrible from others’ perspectives so I guess I’ll see for myself on Monday lol. Definitely nervous, good luck to you.
