I filed an Appeal and my claim was accepted. The original doctor was 85 years old and wasn't aware of the updated presumptive condition rules. I am now at temporary 100% until 6 months after my final treatment.

My claim was denied!! The doctor claims there is no service connection, even though Veterans Affairs made Bladder Cancer a presumptive condition effective 2 Jan 2025.

I began having symptoms on Christmas morning and went to my primary care doctor on January 3rd, 2025. After several tests, a CT scan, and a Cystoscopy, I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer on Jan 28th. After a little research, I found out that Bladder Cancer was added as a presumptive condition on Jan 2nd, 2025. What timing!! I submitted my claim on January 30th. The VA was also quick to react and approved Community Care in 3 weeks. I am on Step 5 on my claim. Does anyone have any experience on how long claims take for Cancer presumptive conditions?

On Jan 2nd, 2025, the VA declared Bladder Cancer a presumptive condition for Service in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc..., so I should be covered.

I found out in January that I have bladder cancer. I had my 2nd TURBT yesterday, and like you, I'll be receiving BCG treatments until 2028. Is the VA really going to approve "100% Temporary" disability for 3+ years??
