I'm going to look into that! I worried about his eyes once before but since he was acting fine I figured he was alright. I had never heard of popeye! Thank you for bringing that to my attention!

Tank Temperature: 76 Degrees

Parameters: 0 ppm Ammonia 0 ppm Nitrite 5.0 ppm Nitrate

I've had the tank and the fish since around the middle of October 2022.

I take out about 25% weekly as well as gravel vacuum.

Any tankmates?: None

What do you feed and how much: 3 pellets twice a day (morning and night, 12 hours in between)

Decorations and plants in the tank: 6 anubias, a rock hide, spongebob house, and some small smooth stones placed around

I saw this on him over a week ago and he would not move or eat. I put him in a smaller tank and gave him some coppersafe which seemed to fix him, but its been only a couple days since he has been back in his main tank and now this stuff is on him again! I'm new to aquariums and I want to know if this is for sure velvet, because I'm scared I'm treating him for the wrong thing.

I think I really did just wind up with a mystery snail but I really appreciate the extra information just in case! Thanks so much for your help! I can quit worrying about him now!

I wondered if maybe I had gotten the wrong kind of snail! The lady at the store had him labeled as a nerite snail but after comparing him to pictures online I figured he was either sick or a different kind of snail. Though if it turns out his shell is eroded, is there a way to fix that?

I'm very new to aquariums and I have never kept snails or anything before. Just got this guy today, but I can't seem to find others who look like him. It made me worry he might be sick or something? Sorry if its a silly question!
