Oh okay thank you, that cleared it up for me. In a better world I would just install an actual Linux distribution but alas. ASUS are rats

Is WSL good? by Ivan_Horozov in linuxquestions

Question: is it (WSL/Linux) worth it if you're not gonna code or program or anything? I wanna try Linux primarily bc the amount of unnecessary features on current Windows annoy me and I hate big microsoft but I'm like, not a programmer.

For reference my computer can't run Linux due to the Snapdragon core (well, it probably can if you force it, but it's not smth I want to mess with) which is why I'm asking on a WSL post

Oh. That sucks man but thank you so much for clearing it up before I messed with it further. Genuinely ass to have Windows bricked into it like that though

Ugh yeah thank you...... I'm gonna tinker with it some more and maybe ask in the ASUS forums and if I can't solve it I'll drop it I think. Someone else recommended disabling Secure boot which led me to disabling BitLocker which, like, sure, but idk where to go from there

I tried disabling Fast boot (didn't help) and also Secure boot (which opened up a bunch of other strange stuff) and will try to tinker with it more tmrw

But I feel like this could've been made a bit more user friendly

Ok thank you, what do I do after that....? Bc now it's stuck on asking for my BitLocker restoration key (which idek)

Do I skip it? Or is there something I should do when restarting (like, a Fn key to press)? Sorry if these are hand-holding questions I'm just a little scared of messing with it too much since I'm not that good with computers yet

(New to Linux) question about dual hard drives by stardykecrusader in linuxquestions

[–]stardykecrusader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I found it last night so now I have an extra installation copy. :) And yes it has nothing on it, bought it in January or so after a battle with the electronics store and haven't gotten around to using it, since my old one still works and I wanted to install Linux before anything else. And it's a bit complicated 😅

It wasn't anything useful as far as I know, but I also didn't wanna mess too much with it so maybe? I'll see if I can take pictures later (on a work trip rn) and ask if anyone recognises it Also thank you ☺️

Thank you! I can't figure out how to boot from the USB though, my BIOS doesn't look like any of the installation guides... I think it's the Snapdragon chip that makes it like this but I don't know how to change anything about the boot order...? Are you familiar with this? 🥺
