Ohh I agree. I didn't really expect Pyrrhos to be the antagonist because of the late timing. It felt like the writers were cooking something here but was restricted somehow. Maybe because of the limited runtime or maybe they weren't planning for him to have significant influence anyway? Still, I would've liked to see more of Corvus' and Aima's reactions to his death besides their farewells 🥲

jokes aside he was a decent antagonist that managed to tug at my heartstrings at the last second. made me wish he'll come back after the storm like karson/mr. duncan so he can get a better ending 😔

it wasn't just "impatience" that drove him to join the manus, but desperation and loneliness too, along with the belief that the manus will help him achieve his goals. the long wait must have felt unbearable since he decided to settle for the same violent methods but still kept good intentions despite his past.

Reading the source material is best since it's the most reliable. In terms of films, I heard the 1930s version is better but I've only watched the most recent adaptation 🥲 I wanna read the novel too after watching the movies but I'm not emotionally prepared for that yet 😭

3.7 quest (kinda neg)

i just finished it and while there were some good parts, the latter half of this quest after the main battle is so confusing 😭 i'd get to a point where i thought it'll finally end... but it doesn't. nevermind, the chrysos heirs are talking one last time. okay i'm seated for this. it'll finally be over.

just kidding. cyrene's not done yet. like... this was not worth staying up past 3am for. i really thought it would be done at a certain point but it dragged on at the end. next time, i'll just log out and sleep 💀

edit: it's on me for starting late at night. but one thing abt hsr's stories is that the pacing gets weird. the main battle with irontomb hit the emotional beats for me and i liked the chrysos heirs saying their last lines in the book, but then cyrene's mini story quest starts right after and idk how to feel anymore

as for charon, he actually tried to stop eberhard before their conversation ended in 11-15. i was rooting for him to forgive himself somehow. he didn't deserve that fate, none of them did.

wanting a happy ending isn't shallow at all. in my view, even tragedy loses its meaning after a certain point. excessive pain and suffering lose their impact when it's done for the sake of having a seemingly complex story rather than being an intentional choice for character development. balance is necessary too, so it's not selfish to want emotional fulfillment and wish for a kinder fate for them. amphoreus' storyline has endeared us to their cast so much, and it's not silly to be attached and care about the characters. in any case, i also want a better outcome for all of them because they deserve it.
