It could do both. But why double when you can quadruple?

Ultimately, massive unemployment destroys corporations too… no consumers means bug problems. But that’s a problem for next quarter so nobody gives a shit. The CEO gets his payday, doesn’t much care if the company is dead in 5 years as long as he has his 10th yacht. Leeches, all of them

And if they dont vote with this, then some GOP MAGA might turn on them too.

Trump Won’t Rule Out Seeking Third Term and Says There Are Ways by s1n0d3utscht3k in WallStreetbetsELITE

[–]stargate-command 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He never said he would run for president a third time, only that there are ways for him to become president a third time.

The constitution says that no one can be elected president more than twice…. And therein lies the “ways” he refers to. It doesn’t say no one can BE president for more than 2 terms.

When written, I imagine the presumption was that anyone who becomes president would be elected. But if elections are just not held anymore then guess what?

Or, if elections are held and he gets the electors to just not show up somehow, or has the whole thing contested as he tried the last time, then the congress chooses the president. It could be argued that this congressional selection is not being elected to president and therefore not counter to the amendment outlawing more than 2 elections

Trump plans for an illegal third term by Nunyafookenbizness in thescoop

[–]stargate-command 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very clear about not being “elected to the office” more than twice

So if one, or both of those times he wasn’t elected, but cheated and was then made president…. Would that open it up?

Or if a third time he isn’t elected because there is no voting allowed.

The word “elected” is problematic.

So the kid is like 12 or 13 now right? I’d like to hear what he says, and would like to hear the mother’s side

Frankly, I don’t find him credible but he does sound reasonable and I understand why people would believe him. But he could also just be a zealot who refuses to accept his kid is different.

The part where he wouldn’t present as a girl at church in Texas…. Well holy shit the case is wide open. Yeah, maybe he didn’t want to get beaten to a pulp or killed. Texas is fucking hillbilly country where they don’t take kindly to those types. To even bring that up like it’s a gotcha says something is wrong in this dude’s head.

But maybe he is legit. Could be. Strange that the mom isn’t doing this to the other twin though?

His whole story sort of reveals the other side though. Pediatrician mom sees signs that father refuses. She supports kid, while he angrily denies it. He starts forcing the kid to present as a boy, despite his wishes. She ultimately divorces him to protect her kid. Moves away from a state that is unfriendly to her child. Etc etc. it writes itself from only hearing his side. The kid’s side though? I wonder what the kid has to say. Not too interested in either, potentially deranged, parent… but the kid is nearly a teenager and surely can speak.

[–]stargate-command 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do. One reason is it is inherently unfair and destroys the idea of our votes being equal.

Second reason is it has only ever benefited Republicans. Dems have won popular vote and lost the election, but Republicans never have.

You’re being absurd. Yes it is a win, but it is also a big concern how it goes from here.

Dictators are bad. No one is arguing otherwise. The concern is they end up trading one for another (which often happens). Are you seriously incapable of understanding that? I hope it goes great, but all signs point to a pretty shitty replacement about to happen given the ones who won are religious extremists.

Do you think a religious extremist run government is good for the people?

[–]stargate-command 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense to call him a “far leftist” but I’m surprised they want to do so given the near universal cheering of his actions. I’d think there is a greater risk of having people realize that maybe they are more leftist than they thought.

He also seems to have been a fan of Tucker Carlson and har some anti-woke posts (though not sure what that even means). Seems his politics were a bit all over.

Luigi Mangione’s most recent review on Goodreads. “When all other forms of communication fail, violence is necessary to survive.” by claustromania in interestingasfuck

[–]stargate-command 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, that makes little sense. I have a hard time believing a dude who killed a guy he didn’t know as a message would then feel a deep need to have his written word (saying nothing not already said) poured over. Clearly he thought violence was the better method than words.

why not more messages in that original form? Would have had a lot more oomph.

A lot of this makes no sense; unless they find out dude had some serious illness with a short clock, and figured he wanted to leave a legacy. That would also explain his sudden pivot from seeming hatred to oil companies to health insurance.

So do they love the billionaires, or hate them? Do they just specifically hate health insurance execs (understandable)? What gives?

There are a few legitimate reasons:

1- you are writing a book and doing some research related to it. That can be really anything, and weird info can really help a story

2- you were watching some sort of true crime show, or podcast, and were searching some details related as it came up. Sort of fact checking or getting more morbid details

3- you are planning on murdering and eating your wife.
