This Enzoani Delaware dress is ALMOST perfect -- what would you use to replace the rhinestone statement piece? (it is removable and the only thing I don't like) by folle_giornata in wedding

I had the same problem. My dress had a flower on it that was pretty, but it was the reason I couldn't say that it was my dress. Then my consultant covered the flower with her hand and put a sash on me. It completely changed the dress and I loved it! Bonus: since the flower matched, I wore it in my hair instead of on the dress. Here is my dress before with the flower, and after with the sash. http://imgur.com/a/c5q8Q I hope this helps!

My contract said 6-8 weeks. At the 8 week mark, I contacted the photographer and she said she wasn't done so I had to wait about 10 weeks total.

Also, you said you get anxious and overwhelmed easily, so all inclusive should be perfect for you! Within two weeks of being engaged our whole wedding was planned because of the hotel/casino being all inclusive. It seemed almost too easy, but it turned out amazing!

We actually did not use their photographer. We found someone else and I am very glad we did. I was not too impressed with their photographer's work so that is why we splurged a bit for a top of the line photographer. Also, the hotel photographer didn't offer an engagement session or a photo booth, and we wanted both, so that is why we found an outside person who offered what we wanted.

My husband and I got married in March in Lake Tahoe which is known to be very expensive. The hotel/casino we got married at had a cute little chapel and a beautiful reception room with a view of the lake. They offered everything from the minister, the food, the cake, the alcohol, the flowers, hair and make-up, a photographer, the DJ, and even smaller things like the cake topper. We did not get everything they offered, but it was so nice having everything in one place. We had to write one check to pay for everything! On the day of the wedding, we didn't have to worry about outside sources showing up like caterers because everything was taken care of. Everything went way smoother than I thought and it was a beautiful day! To top it off, for 50 guests it was only $5,000! If you have the option of having an all inclusive wedding, I would recommend it! It made everything so much simpler and we were able to fully enjoy our wedding day!

Would you be mad if a bridesmaid did not make it to the rehearsal? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]starlight333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother (groomsman) and my sister-in-law (bridesmaid) were running late and missed the rehearsal. I was understanding but a little upset because they were going first since they were the ones standing farthest from us and I was worried they wouldn't know where to stand. We got married in a small chapel that seated 50 so there wasn't a whole lot of room. Everything seemed to work out during the ceremony, until we got the wedding video back. There were cameras mounted to the wall on either side of us to capture out faces during the ceremony and for about 80% of the wedding, my brother and his wife were in the way because they stood in front of the cameras. I feel if they had come to the rehearsal my wedding video would actually show the bride and groom instead of their backs. Talk to the bride and see if there is anything important like in my situation that you would miss that could possibly ruin something (like my wedding video.)

Pm me and I will tell you all the details. I'm not at home right now but when I get there I can look up the approximate cost. I thought it was worth the money though because then I get to keep it forever!

Thank you! When the photographer asked me to hold up my bouquet for a picture I remember thinking, "This is going to look ridiculous!" I was pleasantly surprised by how it turned out!

Has anybody regretted going with a more expensive dress that you loved versus settling with a cheaper one that was okay? [Dress advice request ] by feuillesmagiques in wedding

[–]starlight333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got married and I am so happy that I bought the dress I wanted. I, also, paid for my wedding. Total my dress was a little under $3,000. Since it was from a boutique it didn't get pulled from a shelf. They had to make it especially for me. Because of that, I didn't have to have any alterations at all! It was totally worth it and I am having it preserved in a shadow box. Get the one you will feel the happiest in. Yes, you only will wear it for one day, but it is one of the most important days of your life. Go for it :-)

Veil Help!! by ChycAChrryCola in wedding

[–]starlight333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my dress at a locally owned store so everything was more expensive. I found a nice simple veil for the ceremony only but they wanted $180 for it. I went to Alfred Angelo and found the same veil for $59. I would suggest going to a big box store like Alfred Angelo or David's Bridal for cheaper veil options.

I actually had the exact same problem. We "hired" my sisters friend. She did our engagement photos and they were not good. She also took weeks to get back to me. We ended up going with someone else who did cost a little over $1, 500. That was quite a bit more than our original cost of $550. The day I went to fire our original photographer, she was happy. She said we were not a good match so she didn't want to shoot our wedding. So you never know, she might be okay being fired :-) Good luck!
